It’s from 7 years ago (before I was married), but it is a really lovely color, that shade of green that is really in these days. I think it would be called “emerald.” The gharara itself has no kaam on it, and I was thinking of getting a new shirt and dupatta made for it. The original is peach. What color do you think I should make?
oooh, lovely!
gold if you want it more subtle and traditional, plum and royal blue if you like contrast, platinum would be so contemporary and fresh... my vote would be for the royal blue though. its such a royal combination with emerald. you can also get a jamavar thats emerald green with the print in an alternate color if you dont want to go for all-out contrast.
i personally don't like too much contrast in clothes, i wouldn't suggest light and warm colors with emerald green. my sister has this amazing emerald green outfit, with bronze, and dull good kaam on it. i myself have been wanting to get an emerald green outfit because i want that kind of kaam, so that's what i'll suggest.

Red would look so lovely. I have an outfit in the same colors- Emerald green kamiz with full body work in gold and kundan on red applique, the dupatta and shalwar are in red and the pipin on all three (kamiz, shalwar and dupatta) is in dark blue jamavar. If you want, I can send you a pic. Also, you can get the shirt and dupatta in the same emerald green color and have dull gold/bronze kaam done on it.
sahar02 if u ve short height den i wud suggest u to dont go for contrast ,make a emerald green shirt n dupatta it ll gives a height to ur body..n ll enhances the beauty of the colour as well.....
you can always work some gold into the platinum shirt too to unify the look. theres a very pretty pale pink karma gharara where they’ve got gold kaam and silver kaam and it looks stunning. i dont see why it wouldnt work here either. or you could do all green with a different colored dupatta, like this lehenga…http://www.hinab.com/bridal/b12.htm
Now that I think about it, chanda, it's very similar green to your nikkah gharara -- just a bit brighter shade. Like I said about green and red -- because my weddings clothes were green and red I fear it will be too much, but I could do gold shirt with green and red accents, and then the same with the dupatta. I really want a dupatta that's soft chiffon -- most of all of mine are net organza or whatever, and it's great, but I want something easier to manage.
I'm also beginning to like the idea of the royal blue in there. More of a peacock effect.
then do gold and green..it would look really pretty.....remember..dull gold...tends to make the outfit look old...--based on experience--
if you go with chiffon...you will have to keep the kaam on the dupatta light....or have them do a border of green/gold kapra with kaam on it...still...its is something to think about...
(by crushed tissue..i meant the crinkled/soft kind...) *but it doesnt have the flow chiffon gives.
the only colored accent i can think of is burnt orange...it would compliment the green like red does...but spicier. :)
