What's so capricious about it, and why does human (capatalist) concern for efficency play into this? Needless to say, the net affect was the same.

Insofar as Hadith are concerned, this is secondary literature in Islam, and has nothing to do with the transmission of the Quran itself.

Point is the same folks wrote even hadith down so how come in one case they presumably made no misake and in another casse it's full of mistakes again presumably.......

it's capricious because when u deal with thousand people possibility of chaos is more but when u deal with one people it's simple........

Again my question why did it take all knowing all-wise almighty close to 100000 try to get this simple thing of uncorruptible refence via impeccable memory or better still prophet himself be able to read and write right....... may be God wanted to keep the comunication as usual intact and this no more prophet concept is spanner in god's plan.. could this be a possibility
