I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

I am determined to get this and gonna try it out formly at John Lewis on sat inshallah. I have tried my friends and it was very nice and light. I am going to get the carrycot too which i can use for the first 6 months for the baby to sleep in instead of buying a cot. I am also going to get the car seat which can be used for children upto the age of 15months. Hmm…

Opinions!?!

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

Well this one is perfect. I know as i am also looking for pushchairs these days. This one (Bugaboo Cameleon) would have been my best choice, but i can not get it as it is too expensive. Its more than 80,000 in Pakistani rupees. Also i am not sure its even available in Pakistan. I live in Saudi Arabia and its only available at mothercare. By the way, where do u live?

I live in the UK. We are thinking about the cost too but now i have thought of something else. We like travelling and wondering if this is going to be ok to take on the plane!!

It has had really good reviews and worth buying it as it will lost lasting! Hmmm...now lets see what happens!

I dont think its available in Pakistan. I have hardly seen ppl in Pak pushing a pushchair. Which one have you guys decided on?

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

SE ! the push chair is simply Beautiful and seems perfect ! my best wishes for u and ur baby :)

well! looking at all this baby stuff makes me really excited but this time i have decided not to buy a single thing in advance for my baby..i will buy each thing and every thing for him/her after he is born inshaAllah..

Every second parent on the streets have this one, its on the expensive side but its suppose to be good.

I will be using my first one a preg perego for the second child as its in good condition.

good luck, when is the baby due?

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

Saadia thats what our friends said that everyone has got one but i dont care to be honest. I just dont know which travel system to get otherwise!

Baby is due inshallah on 23rd Sept. I think i am starting to panic now...have bought nothing except some baby clothes!

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

Btw what happens when you have the 2nd child? Say for example, after 2 or 2.5yrs later? Is the first one still going to be in a pushchair or are they ok to walk/carried around. Good thing with this one is that you can manouvere it one handed too!

Well my daughter is 3 and a half and stopped the stroller almost an year ago!
But there are those strollers, that can carry two.

I would suggest, go into shops and try them out before buying it, and ask different sales ladies their advice, u never know u might find something that you like even better.

Well mines is due at the end of Aug / beginning of sept. I have bought nothing yet.

ps.
Maybe we can start a list of things to buy for a newborn on a seperate thread. I am so out of pratice. hehe

That would be awesome! It’s my first time and I am clueless except that I know I would need a pushchair, car seat and a cot…I am sure there is a lot more to baby shopping…and I dont know when to start shopping exactly… :bummer:

Sunset Eyes…I think the pushchair looks great…any thoughts on the Quinny 3 in 1 system?

alishaht, just to get an idea, when is your due date?

I will start a new thread soon.

My experience is to start shopping after u reach midterm (that is 20 th week) but take is slowly, don’t rush into it, take ur time to try out the items, ask around others with kids. If you don’t know the gender either u wait till the baby is born or buy neutral colours, like brown, white, yellow and my favorite, cream colour.

I am due on Oct 28. My midterm is atleast a month away which means I can relax for a while =)

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

farr farr this is so sad that I cannot see the pic of the pushchair as flickr is blocked in dubai:bummer:

Saadia - good idea to create a thread on the baby essentials. I have only bought white baby clothes as we are not going to find out.

I went to Mothercare in my lunch and looked at the Bugaboo Chamelon up and close and spoke to the assistant. This all took me over my lunch hour…hehe…i asked for the next best thing to the chameleon and she said the following:

http://www.wired.com/images/article/magazine/test2007/hh_bugaboo_bee_f.jpg

She was playing around with it and i liked it very much. Its so so damn light and easy to manouvere, folds easily. The thing with this is that you would need to buy another stroller ie a Maclaren as you can take this on the plane. You dont even have to worry about taking it apart as you do with the chameleon and plus it costs much less!

Now im in 2 minds…hmmm…you can really personalise it!

Alishaht, im not a fan of Quinny! Just dont like the look of it! To be honest, i am being quite stupid as i have done any research on any other prams other than these two!

Install Hotspot ..it lets you bypass..

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

is it cool or is it cool

my due is a bit apart but i so exciting

wow really? let’s see if dubai has not blocked me from accessing websites which will allow me to install hotspot lol…

thanx for the info!

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

For my daughters i use/used the Stokke Xplory Pushchair and the Jane 2009 Slalom Pro Matrix Travel System. :)

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

there are TONS of bugaboo's in toronto and everyone who has one says they're worth the $900 price tag. i say go for it! the bonus is they're incredibly good looking and come in a variety of different colors. i prefer the chameleon to the bee though... i think its better looking.
SE, does the bee come with a carry cot/bassinet attachment too?
most people here have a lighter, umbrella stroller like the maclaren too for when their kids are older but also when they just want a stroller for a day at the beach or the cottage or taking transit everywhere.

maroush, the stokke is on my "when i have a baby lust list", but its $1400 CAD! i just can't justify spending that much on a stroller, even though i'm seeing it more and more in toronto.

Re: I have decided!! This is THE pushchair im getting! Your opinions needed!!

Sunset, I recently saw this on the street and feel in love with the design.

ESPRIT HOUSTON

I don’t like Quinny also, Looks like this is light weight and easy to manouvere.

Aisha, if you cant see the pics - type in Bugaboo Chameleon in google images. This was my first choice. But now im liking Bugaboo Bee. Check out the pics!

SGC - The Bee does not come with the carrycot. The seat actually goes all the way down for the baby to lie flat on its back. They have muffs for the new born which makes it all snuggly for the baby which i will be getting. There is also a rain cover which is useful.

SGC, with the Chameleon, if you were travelling, you would need to dis-mantle the pushchair into 2 pieces ie the travel cot and the chassis. It takes a long time, is quite bulky if you have a baby crying for your attention. I saw all this in mothercare and got put off by it. They also say that the baby can sleep in the carrycot for the first 6 months which means there is no need to buy a cot so early. But i think, because you would need a cot anyway in the end, why not buy it now with the bee and let the baby start sleeping in from day one rather sleeping in the chameleon carrycot which has all germs from taking it outside etc...ewww...i dont want that for my lil darling bubba...

Saadia, nice looking! Is it in 2 pieces?
