I have conjuntivitus

Its about as nice as having jelly in your face. Share your experiences with nasty infections. DOnt limit yourselves to that which blurs the eyesight. Share and share alike.

Re: I have conjuntivitus

I have hiccups. i just shared.

Re: I have conjuntivitus

hicciiiiiiiiii, I actually recognized what a conjuctiva is! WOW. sigh

What are they doing to treat that?

Let's see, I can probably give a better list of my psychological maladies than physical ones.

Re: I have conjuntivitus

When I was a kid I used to get cold sores on my lip. So in other words I had herpes.

Re: I have conjuntivitus

I have really bad athletes foot, a gori aunt of mine suggested I urinate on my feet in the shower, she claims it kills it instantly. :konfused:

Might just get some spray from the chemist instead as soon as I’m free.

Re: I have conjuntivitus

hiccup cunjunctivitis is a bit annoying, but with the right treatment it goes away quickly.

speaking of eyes, i recall that one time when i crashed after staying up for 2 days straight and woke up with my eyes burnign so i pull my lenses out which were drying out and sticking to my eyes, and in the process ripped my cornea...

luckily it was at the side and not in the middle so no vision impact but then infection set in and I had to go in for emergfency eye surgery.

scary as hell.

Re: I have conjuntivitus

I actually said "tobag astagfir" when reading that Fraudia, that sounds like hell, esp when I am one of the stupid few who forget (on a regular basis) to take lenses out..ouch!

Was your eye ok after that? No longterm damage at all?

Re: I have conjuntivitus

well i got lucky, the tear was at the edge of cornea so while it left scarring it has no impact on my vision, a few mm towards teh center it it would have been major problems, scarring would cause vision clarity issue even with corrective lenses, and there are ways to try and fix it but then i would really need very special glasses to be able to read and see.

another challenge was infection, it sets in very quickly and needs to be treated asap. I did not know what I had done so went to the doctor a day later, the infection was spreading and they did not feel there was enoug time to treat it, and thus cut out the infected part. they do it with a local anesthetic in your eye which is in a drop form. and then they heat up a scalpel on a burner and thenscrape out the infected layer, it is strange to9 see a sharp hot object coming towards your eye. u dont feel anything, but can feel the heat of the scalpel in the surrounding area e.g. the eye lid.

I had to wear a patch for a few weeks and then sunglasses for a long time. what a lesson learned..
