deedawar, how does 50 million US dollar sound to you? As for the beginning, that was probably because the initial figure of casualties stood at just 30 for a while…

I have not even distant relation to politics. If Qazi said something just to politisize the event its just sad and pathetic. Mainly what I tried to mentioned was the need for Pakistani to find some ways to bring money on their own to minimize need for outside help. I did mention that any help is good from anyone.

We all have to do something concrete besides talking.

deedawar, its a donation, to deny a donation is not only rude, but its stupid, it has no terms attached to it. Pakistan donated to katrina victims too, and theres nothing wrong in accepting it, for it helps the poor, let go of the matoo mentality yar, ure reasonable person! Money is coming in from everywhere, pakistan and abroad, and thats how it should be.

I agree with the Mullah.. This is not even a morsel for rich developed first world countries… We should throw it back on their faces… ..

Before “leaders” like Qazi Hussain Ahmed, You and other guppies start jumping the guns, 100K was never the “aid”. This was misreported by the heysterical media (and leaders like Qazi), what had happened was that 100K was the amount readily available to the US ambassader at his disposal and he released it right away without any delay or approvals etc. for emergency relief while waiting for the bigger
donations ($50M) to flow in.

And above all, initially no one had idea that its this bad of a desaster. Qazi’s Al-Khidmat group its self announced 1 Million Rs aid initially (I bet Qazi’s each vehicle is more expensive than 1 million Rs) and then they raised it once the situation was cleared.

Well some nations have made it a practice to refuse aid..on the belief that self reliance is something associated with national pride (India is an excellent example of that)..however considering the scale of whats happened if the government refused aid it would have condemned tens of thousands to death

One fourth of out army is deployed on Afghan border to protect US interests and in response to such a disaster what they sent 8 helicopters and a promise of 50million.

I agree Beta, he's a jerk, these people in their self-reighteousness like to mock others and don't know that Allah has promised a sever punishment for gharoor-e-taqwa as well..... btw where were these jerks when the victims needed help?? why are they trying to cash in now??? don't you think that its their religious duty to have trained volunteers ready to do anythibng in any emergency.. they get s many donations and what do they spend them on,, recruiting suicide bombers?
