I hate Pakistani players?

Considering Cricket as our main sport, I was wondering why there is so much hate against our players in our country, for example effigy burnt, threatens calls, unfavorable criticims and harassing. I know we treat them like Kings and Prince, but so do other countries with their respective beloved sport. I mean we compare our own players as if they have rivalry going on; that’s not normal with other fans. If they do something that we do not like; we criticize them left and right and most of it is unfavorable. I was reading Inzi’s latest interview, where he suggested that there are over 100 million critics in our country and that is excluding the TV people. I was just wondering why we hate our players so much. I mean look at soccer, Wayne Rooney did such a stupid thing against Portugal, people called him a thug and arrogant, but most of the blame went to Referee and Christian Rolando. Do you think Pakistanis would have excused him if he were a Pakistani player? Italians do not give flying **** to what Materazzi said, and Zinedine Zidane have just elevated himself even higher among French with that head-butt. He got such an ovation that BBC said it was as if he won the World Cup.

I wanted to know do we have problem when it comes to our own players.

Re: I hate Pakistani players?

Please exclude Zidane's action and his "applause/elevation" as any example for approving or worshipping the player.

Re: I hate Pakistani players?

Yes it is a chronic disease among alot of subcontinent fans and when you ask them to give an explanation, they will tell you very conviniently that cricket players are public figures and therefore it's their birth right to treat players anyway they want.

Re: I hate Pakistani players?

Wait till we lose a match in England, inzi and his whole family will be cursed here on GS. We are just too emotional, already people are baying for Inzi's head despite the fact that as far as batting goes no one in Pakistani lineup comes within 50% of his talent.

Some, errr quite a few prime examples are here @ GS who have said a zillionth time what these players ^ are.
I say how sad and ungreatful compation for ‘Cricket’ on its own :bummer:

Re: I hate Pakistani players?

Batting talent does not warrant leadership role. Vaughan is a fantastic captain so was Naseer Hussain, both were not necessarility the best batsman in the side as well. Ganguly captained Indian side with more talented batsmen then himself, as did Chanderpaul with Lara in the side.

So far whatever little we have seen Younis Khan seems like a much better choice for captain then Inzamam. He is definatley not as talented as Inzi as a batsman and never will be but he seems like a more capable captain.

Re: I hate Pakistani players?

^ bhai sahib I did say as far as batting goes......

Re: I hate Pakistani players?

^ Inzi is not usually cursed for his batting, he is usually cursed for the moronic decisions he makes as the captain of the side. If we lose a match, more often then not (as far as Inzi's role is concerned) it's his captaincy that comes under fire not his batting. Apart from the nightmare of a world cup I dont think he ever had a very lean patch for an extended period of time.

Re: I hate Pakistani players?

The bottom line is simple. We have lost the pinache and charismatic glow to be
as level headed to compete in such classic competitions.
The slide is moving and the full momentum of this rot will be evident in few more years if not months. Public and the Players equaly responsible ofcourse.

What Pakistan can do in Dusty Multan can not be repeated in Serene Lords or else where.

My problem is that I still would like to see them at the top of the world, win or lose.
