Agreed. If someone chooses to post “private” pictures on Facebook or other social networking sites, then they need to become an expert at privacy settings on those sites so that that pictures are not accessed by anyone who is not on their friends list.
Internet is about searching and finding information that are available online. If I do a search online (even on Facebook) and can find pictures of someone elses wedding who is not a friend of mine…how is it MY fault that their pictures came up during my search? Since they failed to keep their pictures private! People need to accept responsibility for their own actions.
For people who are extremely sensitive to their pictures being posted on random forums…here are 2 suggestions:
- Become an expert at privacy settings on the sites where you choose to post your pictures
- STOP posting pictures online! Privately e-mail it to your friends and family. (this really is the best option).
