My pictures have been taken without asking from a girl on this site who is an active user. I DONT KNOW WHO this girl is, she probably is a fake account or friends with one of my cousins on facebook…as one of those fake designer/groups on facebook. She has taken my piks along with my cousins shaadi piks and has posted them throughout the year. I just found out and made an account so i can tell her to take them off. I messaged her nicely..asking her to take them down 3 times..she refused to respond..even though records show she has been online. Im hijabi along with my cousins, it is rude and disrespectful to harm the modesty of your muslim sister. MIND you all these pictures were private and only actual friends on facebook to see.., this girl has to have a made up account. She is clearly a senior member and has 1000 some posts.
What should i do know? the moderator i msged did not help me either. whats the next step? legal action?

if you pm the moderator telling you want your pics removed, they are gonna remove it for sure!

That sucks, I'm sorry. I hope the mods read this and take some action. Maybe try PM'ing several mods instead of just one, maybe that particular one hasn't logged on since?

And I'm sorry your privacy has been compromised :/ The rules clearly say NOT to take pictures from personal FB pages without consent but I guess some people just don't listen sigh

I would never steal someones pics but at the same time I can't imagine anyone asking permision either, have you ever posted someone's pics and asked for permission, I get the feeling I would just get a dodgy look!

i mean..honestly..im sure half of the shadi piks up on this site are stolen....( except for the ones that are on photography sites.blogs)

Seriously? I get it's wrong but you risk that when you put it on FB. Either make it really private or add only close friends and family or don't complain.

Well it is unethical & very rude to steal pics, but I think something like this shouldn't b taken as a sudden shock since its d WWW and theres many creeps out there who can access pics easily and will mis-use them. So you should b very careful about where and what you are uploading.

Agreed. If someone chooses to post "private" pictures on Facebook or other social networking sites, then they need to become an expert at privacy settings on those sites so that that pictures are not accessed by anyone who is not on their friends list.
Internet is about searching and finding information that are available online. If I do a search online (even on Facebook) and can find pictures of someone elses wedding who is not a friend of mine.....how is it MY fault that their pictures came up during my search? Since they failed to keep their pictures private! People need to accept responsibility for their own actions.
For people who are extremely sensitive to their pictures being posted on random forums.....here are 2 suggestions:
1) Become an expert at privacy settings on the sites where you choose to post your pictures
2) STOP posting pictures online! Privately e-mail it to your friends and family. (this really is the best option).

I agree with your post, excpet for one thing. You may search the internet and come across pictures, but that does not give you the right to post them. Sometimes random people who attend weddings decide to put up pictures of the bride. I don't think you can blame the bride in that case for having her pictures up on the internet in the first place. I personally try to only post pictures of models etc, that have been taken expressly for the purpose of exhibition. I hope this makes sense.
