I spent whole weekend thinking about it. Mr BB and your friend I like to accept YOUR Islam at your hand. Please Instruct me what to do. I know that in early days of Islam you had to say Kalima, what do I need to do now. I am ready to change my name to MUJAHID or whatever name you pick for me.

Nothing has changed. You have to still say the Shahada to revert of Islam. Remember after the universal message of Islaam everyone is a born Muslim, it is parents who makes them a non-Muslim. After saying SHAHADA one does not convert to Islaam. Actually he/she REVERT to Islaam. You may like to find/go to the Mosque near your residence and say Shahada there. If you are in Harris County, Texas, USA, I can assist you.
To become a Muslim, simply say the following words:
Ash hadu alla ilaha illa Allah, wa ash hadu anna Mohammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu.
This means I testify and witness that there is no god worthy of being worshipped other than Allah and that Mohammad is his Messenger. You must say it and believe in it.
Praise be to Allaah.
Any human being can embrace Islam. You do not need anyone’s permission. You simply say and believe that there is No God except Allah and that Mohammad is his Messenger. Once you say this sentence, you automatically become Muslim. From there, you start carrying on with the duties of Islam. You must do what Allah and His messenger tell you to, and stay away from what they tell you to. Islam does not tell you to do anything unless it is good for you. It also does not tell you to stay away from anything unless it is bad for you. You will notice the change in the way you look at things, the minute you become a Muslim. You will feel more relieved and secure only to think that you are fulfilling the orders of Allah. Doing this, you will clearly see the benefits of it for yourself and for mankind. You can embrace Islam in any Islamic center. This is only a formality. Once you say and believe in the Oneness of Allah and in the message of his Prophet Mohammad, then you are a Muslim.
Can a non-Muslim go to heaven?
Can a non-muslim enter paradise, for example, a Christian who believes in God (believing Jesus is a prophet) and his prophets, excluding Mohammad ?
The answer to this question is presumably quite clear to all Muslims, because it is one of the obvious matters of ‘aqeedah (belief).
In answer to this question, it is sufficient to quote one aayah and one hadeeth.
The aayah is (interpretation of the meaning): "And whoever seeks a religion other than Islaam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers." [Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]
The hadeeth is: "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no-one of this ummah, Jew or Christian, who hears of me then dies without believing in that with which I have been sent, but he will be one of the people of Hell." (Reported by Muslim, may Allaah have mercy on him, in al-Saheeh, 153).

Thank you, I recite above Shahadah. Now I am Muslims, I'll offer paryer 5 times a day, I'll recite Quran everyday, I'll fast in the month of Ramadan. What do I do if somebody still calls me a non-muslim. (Like Other sects of Islam)
Well duh! then you are still non-muslim.
John yara, it is not as easy as you are making it sound. If you really believe that you can become Muslim just like that, why not try Ahmadiyat for a few months? Come over to NY, have some party stuff with me here (Ahmadi style), play some horses, have a few cold ones, and snort some lines. Man what’ve you got to loose? And when you are tired, become a Muslim.
I was really counting on seeing you in Hell. You are one big bay-wafa friend! Now you are on my “demolition” list.
NYAhmadi yar, that reminded me of this Qadiani Ijlas I attended back in Pennsylvania. One of my close friends is Qadiani and he came to this Ijlas in PA and I went to pick him from the university campus where they were having the Ijlas, so that he could stay with me overnight.
I was offered food and man, was that biryani good or what! They also had lamb karahi and wow... Had really good time talking to people around. My impression is that Qadiani community is very well organized and dedicated in North America and UK. Is that true?

If your Imaan (Aqeedah) is what a Muslim's should believes in, which you already stated the case to be. From now on you must follow Noble Quran and Sunnah, and keep this in mind that nothing can take precedent over them. Peopl will not call you a non-Muslim, they may sue some setreotype against you. But a believer must ignore that and work to eradicate the stereotype and religous hatred against Islaam and Muslims. The only way one may call you non-Muslim if your deeds constitues like them.

Yes Roman Yar, they are very organized. I went to their (well, our) annual jalsa many times in England, in Surrey (tilford) when I was a student in London. Many of my relatives used to go there from Pakistan and they stayed in fairly decent accommodations provided by the Jama’t. They are very organized, and everyone works together to achieve whatever end they are aiming for. Ahmadis generally don't sweat over small stuff. It, however, remains (in my opinion) a very conservative sect of Islam. Very restrictive, and very by the book kind.
Here in NY, I am not really that involved, but whenever my parents visit with me, we go to the mosque in Queens, and meet with other Ahmadis. I have not been to annual Jalsas in DC. I will some day.
Aside from their screwy beliefs, they are really not bad!!

Growup Roman, you must be ashamed of yourself. You stated that your faith is nobody's business. But other's faith is your business, how ironic? You still are an ignorant and prejudice person. Act like a moderator, show us some decency and knowledge. It is not funny.

NYA Yar, I am muslim, my faith does not say that I can't come and visit you. I can see you in NY or DC, KHANA is on me and Peena is on you. (Only Water or Soda).
Well, whatever I said in reply I am doing that for long time and still doing it. I belong to a strick religious family but we are not fanatic. Yeah, In pakistan I am considered as non-sarkari muslim as compare to sarkari muslim. So, still count me as liberal muslim. I know my limits. I know bunch of Ahmadies in NY, which one you know.
RaajDulary and Roman, I am driving Mercedes now. ;)
MAJOR SINS AND SIGNS OF HYPOCRISY
The major sins are associating other objects of worship with God, disobedience to parents, murder, and deliberate perjury.
(Bukhari, Muslim).
There are three signs of a hypocrite: when he speaks he speaks lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he is trusted he betrays his trust.
(Bukhari).
Avoid the seven noxious things.(1) Associating anything with God, (2) magic,(3) killing one whom God has declared inviolate without a just cause, (4) devouring usury, (5) consuming the property of an orphan, running back from the battlefield and, (7) slandering chaste women who are believers but indiscreet.
(Bukhari, Muslim).
Four characteristics constitute anyone who possesses them a sheer hypocrite, and anyone who possesses one of them possesses a characteristic of hypocrisy till he abandons it: when he is trusted he betrays his trust, when he talks he lies, when he makes a covenant he acts treacherously and when he quarrels he abuses.
(Bukhari, Muslim).

I am agree with you, now I call my self muslim what is hypocatic about it. I offer daily prayer and I recite Holy Quran and I fast in the month of Ramadan. Now what right do anybody have to call me a non-muslim.
johnd,
Youre not a muslim because your name is John. LOL
BB,
was bukhari shia or sunni. Many people say he was a Shia because he said Ali, peace be upon him, instead of saying radiuallah.
