Idiot is a harsh word, how should you tell someone politely that they are idiots? and that too in such a nice way that they feel good about themselves.

tell him he is "special." The best euphemism out there for the word "idiot."
There is a concept called "euphemism treadmill" whereby the euphemism for a pejorative word itself becomes pejorative.
idiot itself used to be a neutral term, and moron was a euphemism for it. But alas, no more.

Fob, there are plenty of ways to call somebody an idiot in a polite and non confrontational or aggessive manner.
If you want to call them something in a covert attempt to mock them and therefore make yourself feel bette..... use the above examples
If you want to get them to realise that they are an "idiot" and need to perhaps reconsider their views or actions then calling them these names wont help.
Explain, why and what the different views/ways and options are

in my experience, theres no real ‘nice’ way of telling someone theyre a jerk!
just give them a reason you dislike them and at the end of your speech say: “therefore, you sir, are an idiot!”
