I got one of those "millions for you if you help me" mails

I have seen people who go crazy when they get these emails. My colleague was all excited when he got this email. I had a hard time convincing him that this is a scam. He finally understood when he saw a similar email in my inbox.

Now the bigger scam is with fake job offers. This friend of mine got a very good offer from a very good company. The offer was too good to be true. We just crosschecked and found that there was a “s” missing in the domain name from which the email regarding the offer was sent. The scam was exhaustive. These guys set up interviews negotiated on the offer and finally asked my friend to payup the the refundable visa costs. That alerted us and we began to cross check..

They had a local office and acted as if some guys flew down from Hong Kong to conduct the Interview.

So guys be extra careful when you get an offer from an overseas company.

Potentially I have lost several billion dollars over past 10+ years, just becuase of junk mail filter. I think I should sue Microsoft, Yahoo & google for a compensation.

One of my friends believes in spamming the spammers back, so i agree with your tactics, MO3!

Whenever she gets junk mail in the post (like applications to credit cards, “you’ve won the nigerian lottery” etc) She gets the return envelope provided, fills it with the original letter (shredded) and a couple of old tea bags…amongst many other dubious matter, and posts it back :rotfl:
