Well, most of you might know I’m on a Bridal MUA hunt these days. I had been calling them for quite a while but was unable to meet. The problem was that Maram & Abroo both are on many international projects & work for many fashion shows so they are many a times not available in their salon. They haven’t even commercialized their salon at all which is why they don’t put up real brides pictures any where as well.
Anyway, so their assistant finally gave me an appointment. I visited the place with my mum. Its in Faisal Town and a house with no board outside. It was giving me a creepy feeling but when I went in I met the assistant. She was a very sweet girl. She gave me their portfolio. The album had pictures of about 40 brides - party makeup/engagement/nikkah/barat/valima.
I liked every SINGLE bride’s makeup. I couldn’t even pin point one that I didn’t like. Considering I am so picky when it comes to makeup; it was all natural. I liked the natural base, the highlighted eyes and your-age look the makeup gave. I was not expecting that from them since they don’t have that much of a name. But then I realized its because they don’t advertise and are many a times not in town. The room was full of many certificates that they both had been awarded nationally & internationally in Makeup & Photography. The first picture in the album was of the Assistant herself who had been their bride as well. She too looked so pretty, masha Allah. Maram herself does the hair & duppatta setting & makeup. They don’t have a proper salon, its a house of one of them.
Most of my requirements were filled - base & natural makeup like Mariam Khawaja’s, no assembly line brides (like Allenora & Madeehas), individual attention, reasonable cost and I don’t look over age. I am considering them greatly now that I have visited and looked at their work. I’m planning to get party makeup from them soon for a friend’s wedding. I hope I like it enough to book them for my main day, Insha Allah.
Thats great Daffy.thts good to hear that.plz share your experience. i'm too considering them but couldnt visit earlier or i can tell my inlaws to book them for valima atleast coz thats within their range but do they tell u abt availability when u visit them? like ive heard they r mostly on tours and im hardly left with exact 3 months.
yeah they do let you know which dates are free if you ask them. DO get an appointment before visiting them;else you wouldn't be able to enter the location.
awesome! and the room where they do the makeup is nice and relaxing, I asked for green tea and really helped in soothing my nerves. you'll look great inshallah
I called Maram and Aabroo today for appointment, she told me they are not taking up bookings for Jan 2011 as yet because rates are subject to change in Jan 2011.i asked them like how much change is expected, she told me that not much but 5000 to 8000 :-/ so guys after dec they"ll be charging 30k--33k.
