His last words when his verdict of hanging was announced were actually words of peace, encouraging kurds and all Arabs to forgive eachother for past mistakes, and to live in peace and harmony. I thought those were great last words, but he still committed very evil acts. I don’t think he deserves to die, because I don’t think anyone should willfully kill another person, no matter how bad that person was, but I do believe in torture. I believe that Saddam should be tortured for the rest of his life with no forgiveness as a warning to every other person that follows his path. I believe he should be forced to work 12-14 hours a day within his jail cell until the day he dies.
Re: I finally have 1 good thing to say about Saddam.
we should all pray that God helps him in any situation saddam is in....If he was evil...so be it....but dont decide his faith....Leave it to Allah...Whatever has to happen with him will happen to him...Just pray that wutever he did...noone turns and repeat the same mistakes
Re: I finally have 1 good thing to say about Saddam.
lisha and rockistan i have experienced death.....well u can think like this somehow i do came back from dead:)and trust me is really painful.even thinking abt it is painful.
Re: I finally have 1 good thing to say about Saddam.
There is no doubt that suddam committed alot of unforgetable evil acts but they are not unforgiveable.. Allah (swt) is great merciful.. U don't know if Allah (swt) have forgiven him or no... Allah (swt) says that he will forgive anyone who does toba from heart... So u can't decide for anyone...leave it to Allah (swt).... Another reason why iam against death penalty...
Re: I finally have 1 good thing to say about Saddam.
saddam got wht every1 wanted...
who will punish bush & co? thousands have been killed so far...for wht? only bcos papa bush was not able to take care of his mess n lies so bush jr decided to jump in n make more mess n lies.this war was never about freedom / liberation or WMD...it was about finishing wht bush sr couldn't do even if it means killing n murdering 10s of thousands of innocent civilians in cold blood.
Re: I finally have 1 good thing to say about Saddam.
i guess none of u guys have seen the video where he gets his men to line up a few prisoners who are blindfolded and handcuffed - then he takes a handgun, and shoots them one by one in the head, at point blank range...and what for? cuz they were shia?
I agree, what america is doing now, and has done in iraq in the past is wrong...but its a shame that a man like saddam was in power for so long...not cuz it was him, but cuz it was an islamic state, and what he was doing was not acceptable, a black mark so to speak for islam and muslims...it's a shame that he was allowed to be in power for so long while the other "islamic" states sat on their behind and did nothing to put an end to his unjust rule...and its a bigger shame that people actually sympathise with that coward now that he speaks a few lines of peace and justice...heh...anyone faced with death would say that same things ppl!
he's getting off ez with the death penalty...if only he could be revived again after death, and then put to die again, so he'd experience it again and again, for every innocent life he has taken...that would be justice...

well then those who let him opress them for this long are just as guilty as he is.they didn't do anything themselves then why should others come n help them? God help those who help themselves.he ruled them for so long bcos they let him rule them.and abt him saying a few lines of peace n justice...well there is no set time for any1 to redeem for their actions.to accept or not to depends on Allah.i have no sympathy for him but at the same time i have no sympathy for any iraqi either.the mess they are in today is their own fault and it will only get worse with time.they accepted saddam long ago n paid the ultimate price with their blood.now by accepting another puppet government they are making the same mistake again.well if they are this desperate to die then by all means.i'm glad none of the islamic / arabic countries are putting their ppl in risk by helping iraqis.thats the sane thing to do.muslims are in a gutter bcos of their own incompetence, selfishness and stupidity.simple as that.
Re: I finally have 1 good thing to say about Saddam.
what makes u think he means that?.if he was to come back into power he will start chopping their heads off.but thats the way it works in iraq, only tyrants can rule.I don't think he did anything to those kurds and shiahs that they would 'nt have done to him if they had a chance.

Better not bring Islam in this, killing innocent either WILLINGLY or UNWILLINGLY is EQUALLY punishable in every part of the world... You must be familiar with law, a person who puts a blind eye on wrong doings of a CRIMINAL or a KILLER is also punishable for the crimes the OTHER committed. When Saddam was KILLING his people, KURDS and Iranians in Iran-Iraq war ( I am talking about PRO-Gulf war1 era) why Americans were not doing the RIGHT thing?? maybe coz at that time he was killing Iranians with chemical weapons, which of course was also the RIGHT thing to do as Iranians ARE EVIL? NO doubt he is getting what he deserved, but its like punishing one of those 40 thieves, and the irony is that THIS one is being punished by remaining 39.
Re: I finally have 1 good thing to say about Saddam.
Zombie: why not bring Islam into it? Islam is a superior religion compared to the rest...and rulers of "Islamic" countries should be held accountable to a higher level as well! esp if they did everything in the name of Islam! I agree, he was pushed by the US and other superpowers for some things, and they're the ones holding him accountable...the fact remains however, that it was him in the end who did everything...and better to have 39 theives left compared to 40, even if it is the rest who get rid of that 1 theif...
armughal: surely, shias and kurds should be punished the same way for the atrocities they caused...i didn't say it was just him terrorising the shias and kurds...the point i was making here is that when there's solid evidence against someone like the video i mentioned, it's inexcusable to let them free and they deserve the severest of punishments...
saaein: my point is not to sympathize with iraqi's...it's about what saddam said once, and how ppl are sympathizing with him, overlooking everything he has done in the past...mind u, that wasn't what he said wasn't even an apology! i don't c it as repentence...it's more of an act to try to be a "hero"...
