I dont use the term because I have had friends that get upset at being called that by others. I just dont think its a nice thing to call someone.
I completely agree with you on this one because usually people use the term in a demeaning manner
to the person who started the thread I know what you mean by cringing when people say "i don't want to marry a fob" in your face.... both me and my fiance were not born in the west, but I've been living here for more than a decade and my fiance has been out of pakistan for a while as well, yet people still make it seem like either me or him are fobs as if the world has ended
If people have personal preferences don't voice them in a negative manner towards the other person because it is extremely rude
