Iunno. Some of the stuff that has happened in the last few years have made me question if some people would have been better off not getting married (for the sake of being married) than in the situation they are in right now. All too often rishtas are made without really looking into whether the two people involved are right for each other in the long term. Lots of girls especially, do get married because of some 'idea' that it is time for them to be married and that their parents know best.

I completely agree! I recall manisha, the actress, saying something on similiar lines how she got married because there was the pressure to settle in but now she thinks that it was not a wise decision. So yah, just like her alot of normal girls/boys do marry just because it's getting too late and they are tired of same questions again and again on their single status.

Reminds me I had a dream last night that I rushed into getting married and boy was I unhappy as soon as the shaadi happened. I remember being very sad.

I don't think it's an excuse...I think it's a genuine reason. Marriage is a commitment to someone for your whole life, it has a lot more value than we've given it in this day and age. It's not just something you do because you're 30 and have a job and have nothing else to do, you know what I mean? You want to marry someone who you really feel like "wow, this would be amazing" with.
