The quote in the title was said last night in my Microeconomics class at George Mason University where we have had 2 professors who won the Nobel Prize in Economics. I mean seriously, are people in this country THAT ignorant to believe that kind of garbage? First you have idiots who actually think intelligent design is an actual science, when in actuality its just bullsiht, and now this. Of course the whole course gave her confused look and then laughed at her. Then the professor quipped, “Well I suppose if we all banded together and boycotted China, they would become democratic,” and joined the rest and started to laugh as well.

Futile efforts if not done on a massive basis and coordinated with others.

Amidst the rising gas prices, there are people who are advocating boycotting middle eastern oil by asking people not to buy gas from certain companies.
These companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell… 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco…144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil…130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway..117,740,000 barrels
Amoco…62,231,000 barrels
Do the math: at $30/barrel these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $55-$60 a barrel)
