I’ve mentioned 2 of them in the religious forum already.. One is the ruling (us Hanafis don’t follow it tho) that a girl can be married off without her consent.. Another are the rules of inheritance (esp if there aren’t any safeguards for widows or women in general who aren’t being treated fairly)..
There are a few others but I can’t remember the complete details.. One is that if a rapist marries his victim he is not punished (or less severely punished?).. Wouldn’t that mean in theory he could just rape a girl he was desperate to marry cos more often that not no-one else will marry her and there’d be no harsh punisment whilst her life is ruined? Another is that notorious thing about about a man’s evidence being worth twice of that a woman (I know there are exceptions but I can’t remember the details).. so if a guy stole some money but blamed me I’d be less believed thru no fault of my own?
It’s also hard to tell where to separate religion + culture sometimes (I understand that certain things I can’t get my head around could be culture rather than religion)..
If I think about this all it REALLY bothers me..

well my friend there are so many signs of allah from which you can be sure about his existence.
quran is easy in a sense that we can just know about the rights and wrongs from quran, whereas there were and are some people who are the guided ones who are divinely people nd only they can understand quran in the perfect way(with the help of allah and his messenger)
well there is nobody on this site that will be able to help you.
so i recommend to you to watch the narrations of dr.tahir ul qadri and get yourself back on the right track.
and pls never follow other ignorant, misguided people like dr.zakir naik he will mislead your deen.
follow tahir ul qadri for he is sunni and he is a mureed of tahir alauddin shah qadri al gilani (a saint belonging to family of prophet he was 16th descendent of gaus paak and 28th descendant of muhammed s.a.w)

God is not in need of you… If you can’t feel his presence than you are who in who’s heart is covetousness and lust. These two things veil you from Allah. Your poverty is not that which brings your closer to Allah but that of secondary cause. You can’t feel Allah because you are in the abyss of Materialism. Your heart longs for this world. HOW CAN IT then seek Allah? Your contemplation is a mere thread on Gupshup, how then do you expect to get close to ALLAH? If you don’t seek Allah on your own, he has no reason to seek you out. Surely He is not in need of you but vice versa. If you don’t contemplate don’t shed light on your inner soul, then Allah will not as well. You’ll be a mere spectator in this play of life.

It really is very scary at moments that today you are here on this planet and your laughing and doing ur things and suddenly your no more. People bring you to your last resting place and they leave
and go back home to do their things. Pay bills, go to their appoinments..etc…yes they are sad but they will move on.

when i think there is NO GOD. That really creeps me out!! In my mind i simply cannot understand that there is no planner that there is no one holding the ropes and guiding the universe.
Sometimes its so difficult to even regulate your own life. Life of a single person (me) its so difficult to stay stable and not to loose your mind. Let alone a family, village, town, city, provice, country, world, universe.
Galaxy..etc… I just cannot imagine there is no one directing all this. That there is no “planner”!!

i mean its so beautiful its so diverse that there is a PLANNER (Allah) behind all this and then i smile

Shukar Alhamdolilah I never had this moment.Try to get out of your bed of roses and look at under privlliged people, hardworkers, people who work on daily wages, chit chat with them and youll be amazed how strong their belief is about god and always be thankful to almighty Allah for everything.

Brother, I am no expert on Religion, but all I can say is :
Why do you believe Allah is responsible to give you happiness..?
Why did you not lose faith when you were Happy..?
It is because we believe that being Sad is a state we should not be in, and Allah is responsible for keeping us in a state we like. The truth is, we need to seek Allah in every possible state, Good or Bad.
We are who we are, Religion can only make us strong when we are down. Why blame Allah for our weakness..?

I would tell you to ignore wasi88 and listen to both of them if you want to and then decide where your heart is set. I highly disagree with some of the actions of Tahir ul Qadri.
A good start would be to listen to Nouman Ali Khan, he has many talks which are in simple english and much youth feels they can connect to him in terms of religion and the problems today’s youth face. But ofcourse before all this, start Namaz. And not just start but the words in Quran are ‘aqeemus salaa’t’ - Namaz qaeim karo - which means read it properly, learn the meaning, know what you are reciting, pray on time etc etc.

Well the thing is that telling someone to read the surah or do this or that does not help much i think. I think its a personal struggle that we all have once or more than once in our life.
We all go through this face. Some get out of this face quickly others keep on wondering about the religion, God or Universe.
Whenever I go through this face i start to compare…and wonder what else is there? I mean if not Islam or no God no Creator then what? What is the alternative. To be honest i do not see any alternative or anything else that grasps my attention. Religion and believing in something (Allah) is something that you have to do with your heart and mind not ONLY mind.
Often people wonder and ask for prove. Oh God if you are here what is the prove…give me a sign. I also have had these moments.
