That’s for grad school applications and sending a gift is out of line. I am referring to undergraduate students who will write a little note to their professors. My brother told me he asked a question during an exam and his professor literally gave him the answer. Only because the two had previous one-on-one conversations. So, depending who writes the note and what the note says I think professors may be influenced by it. I’ve heard if its someone’s last year and they really need to pass a course to graduate professors will bump their grade up by a little - just enough to let them pass.

LOL. Yes it does depend on what you say actually. One time I totally blanked out on a question, so I actually wrote that on the answer sheet. “Dr. I am sorry I am totally blanking out on this question”. He gave me half credit for it
