I have heard you can use pancake mix instead of Nido for gulab jaman … true?

i tried that AJ but they didn;t hold well and went real soggy. thats why i like mum’s gulab jaman cos she used to add sooji which gave them a granular texture. make sure the syrup isn;t too watery. hope it turns out good.

FF what did you put for garnish?
Can we add rose water or vanilla extract…or would it change the taste completely.

You probably could but I wouldn;t and I didn;t. I just sprinkled some crushed almonds and pistachios.
