I cried...

well not cried cried but I felt the melting in my heart as I watched Najam Sheraz’s new song “Gilay Shikway Bhula Dau”. It’s about bringing the Pakistanis together. Getting rid of the secterian violence, the feudalism, and other damaging issues of the current day Pakistan. It’s beautifully filmed and sung by Najam.

i felt the same way, it was so well done and so beautifully sung :k:

yup i saw it the other day on esongs. was quite taken on the scene when gunmen opened fired on namazis. great video indeed :k:

I might sound negative or whatever but I don't think a really good job was done on the song...the lyrics might b a lil good but the way it was sung wasnt that great. You could see alot of hardwork done on the video but I don't think they could quite make what they wanted to make. The composition of the song doesnt attract you much, and the video is too attractive. So, you cant actually pay attention to what he is saying in the song and you just watch the video, atleast thats what happened to me. In the beginning of the video, Hitler is shown and the i almost jumped up and said why are they showing Hitler?! and later i heard the lyrics saying 'ibrat ke nishaan' or something like that.
The lyrics of the song say ke all this should end while he is actually showing all of that in his video. So unless you are paying really close attention to the lyrics, it doesnt make sense.
I think he could have done a better job on the composition of the song and a lil less on the video then it wud have made more sense. But then, thats just my opinion.

It hard for girls to pay close attention - Lajawab, circa peenay k baad

Najam Shiraz is one hell of a vocalist. I think the man is underrated. I remember JJ once saying that Najam has been doing concerts even when JJ was in college. My personal favourite from Najam was 'un se nain mill kar dekho' originally aired on MCC NTM

I saw the video on Prime two days ago. It is different, thats for sure, and probably closer to the truth. The song was nothing to write home about.

someone post the link to the video plz.

I cried too, :crying:
Actually I never heard/seen it.. post a link
Sounds really good

Right on Spock. He is one hell of a vocalist but is very under rated.

Well, no doubt, Najam is a very good vocalist but if the above statement is meant to prove that Najam had become a popular singer when JJ was in collge, I guess it is not correct. I recently heard a Najam's interview on PTV (or STN, whatever) and he said that his first public performance was in 1987 in Multan in front of a handful of UETians who belonged to Multan (I happened to be one of them). And his second major performance was in UET in 1989 when the students unions resumed after a long time (incidentally I witnessed that performance too). However by that time when Najam was trying to establish himself, JJ was a much known and popular figure.

I wanna see too :crying:

Post a link please :bummer:

yeah it's a very nice video and Najam Sheeraz has established himself as one of Pakistan's talented new-breed singers. his effrt towards creating songs with a message (other than that of love) must be appreciated. this particular song is a wonderful appeal and has a very strong message.
