No matter what I try.
SP2 running, windows keeps on refusing to install cause of unknown publisher.

Go to "Tools/Internet options" in IE:
select the 'Security' TAB: (see screenshot)
- Press the "Default level" button if you can't slide the bar there
- Then put it at least to "Medium" or "Medium-low" level
should work now

Ive tried that, I even put GS in Trusted Sites.
Still didnt work. I'll give it another go.

It said 'The recommended level for this zone is Medium
You've selected a level lower then Medium. Please Select a level at Medium or higher'

What's happening is that it's trying to install freedominstaller.cab file and the publisher is unknown. Since the publisher is unknown (or the license is expired), your windows will not let you install a file by an unknown publisher for security reasons. So if doing what gizzy told you to do doesn't make it work, then I don't know what will. I personally am suffering from this problem on my PC but laptop works fine. So, I don't know how you can fix it. Maybe someone else has any other solutions?

Here’s another approach.
This time select the “custom level” button:
On there, play with the different ActiveX control options.

This has worked for me before. But now just today I was checking and my IE kept crashing everytime when it asked to install the ActiveX, might have something to do with the new paklinks redirect thing.
Then I opened Opera and I played a song without installing the “freedom Installer” And then I used the link in the ‘sticky’](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=169333) to upload a song and succesfully posted it ina a new thread there.
I suggest you do the same.
First dump IE.
Then download Opera from here:
Then install and enjoy a stress free life.

I’ve tried it all Gizzy, enabling ActiveX, playing with the custom settings waghaira waghaira.
This is my last resort.
Cant I run IE and Opera together? What bout Firefox?

I give up.
I downloaded Firefox then tried to go into java console to allow Firefox to get java and it kept on coming up with error that I dont have permission to do so.

I don't think it'll fix the problem because freedominstaller's license is expired!!! I don't know if your computer completely doesn't open the thread or takes a long time but my computer gives me the error but then opens the thread. Using my laptop, I can see the play buttons etc, but when I am on my desktop, I have to use winamp and I am unable to see the play button in the thread.
Does it open the thread at all or it doesn't?

In IE, it opens the thread then ofcourse the ActivX bar pops up saying its blocked it and I right click and go Install ActivX and it refreshes the window popping up the Windows has stopped the installation.
The gray java thingie box sits there for a while saying its loading applet and then I get the Freedomblahblahblah in the status bar.
Same with firefox.

Then it's normal. Don't worry. Check out my sticky thread in audio if you need more assistance. If that doesn't clarify things, pm me. In a few minutes I'll post a snap shot of what that gray thing looks like, that'll clear things out.

So basically, the only thing, like I said before, is the play stop buttons. Nothing else. To play it in winamp is even better because you can get out of the thread. On the other hand, if you use the buttons given there, once you get out of the thread, the song terminates. So you can still upload/play songs, but you'll have to use winamp.
