Jang Group, one of the pioneers of modern journalism in sub-continent and the most successful one. But for last several years its Urdu wing has gone crazy.
I remember the ‘highlights’ section of Sept 11, 2001 when it says ‘50,000 halaaqaton ka khadshaa’ OK fine, at a very busy time there could be that number of people in twin towers (however in journalism you always provide an educated guess or conservative estimate to minimize the false speculations, unless you are a tabloid or Evening Special), but alongside there was the biggest blow of the century for journalism, the news script said ‘hazaaron laashein nikaali ja chukien’. I mean come on, everyone knows for next 36 hours they couldn’t even go near the burning inferno, let alone retrieving bodies from the rubble.
I had to write about it for the longest time, it shows that top media giant is acting like a tabloid what can we say about standard of others.
A fresh example is this news. You can find this news everywhere, I am posting the latest update from cbc.ca
