It doesn't matter if a section of population support these terrorist based on their ethnic or religious affiliations
You can not compare MQM's 1994-1998 insurgency with the current insurgency in NWFP. MQM's insurgency never had the popular support of the people it clamis to represent wich was very much evident from the results of 2002 elections when MQM lost many seats and faced a massive decline in its vote bank then.
