…I did not expect the Pakistani Government to last this long. We are coming on to a week of the border being closed. 80% of the fuel goes from Pakistan as do logistic supplies and weapons. According to BBC 6500 trucks are waiting for the opening of the border.
Now this I must credit the PPP for. They have done a good job.
If this is a political issue by all means move to PA.
I think this is one really strategic move by Pakistan army . Btw it wasn't PPP govt but Chief of Army was furious about the attacks and he is the one who closed the borders . Anyways , now these tankers are on fire , and a very nice time to tell America that sorry sir , but Pakistan is no more 'safe' to be used as NATO supply line .
It can be a wrong move too , but lets see . I think Pakistan has nothing to lose :D
Better late than never. Pak Army should have reacted over killings of thousands of civilians by the drones. Its all about the Army in Pakistan. Its only when army got hit by these drones, they started to shout.
Americans will be forced to develop new routes for Afghanistan, as of now easiest route is via Pakistan.
If they are successful in alternate route, scenario will be different and they might not say sorry next time.
Better late than never**. Pak Army should have reacted over killings of thousands of civilians by the drones. **Its all about the Army in Pakistan. Its only when army got hit by these drones, they started to shout.
Wow I can't believe it, the Pakistanis on this board don't have the guts to say that but here we have an Indian on a Pakistani forum saying this. Thank you yamahaguy, your an example to all these wannabe pakistanis.
This action by Pakistan has help the U.S. greatly by preparing it for future conflicts. Defense dollars are now being poured into weapon technology that utilizes solar power. This slap on the wrist is only the latest reminded of the vulnerability know for about years and it will help usher in a greener and less oil dependent military. This is good news on several fronts beyond just the military aspect of it.
^Yeah but 90% of the US millitary still rely's heavily on oil... the gas guzzling humvees and Abrahams aint gonna be solar powered for some years my friend.... Besides i doubt they have any lack of fuel since they sit on the Iraqi oil reserves... great thing is though the Kurds aint giving up thier oil as easily as the Arabs who are hitting back too now... America is going the way Russia went...
No matter how big the beast is on land the creepy crawlies win in the end....Just like the tiger succumbs to the worms.
Well, it was a good move by Pakistani establishment whether army or PPP, but again if the message is just that dont mess with army but you can do whatever else you want, then its not as wise as it is taken as.
I dont think musharraf would have got the courage to do the same if he would be there , either as president or COAS.
