These are our leaders, who have ruled the country multiple times in the past and are longing to do so in the future too.

Nawaz Sharif Upset About U.S. Support for Musharraf - - -
**2. (C) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham December 6 that his party has acted responsibly with the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to fight terrorism. ** He recounted that former President Pervez Musharraf had exiled both him and PPP leader Benazir Bhutto, and he was “amazed when President Bush provided his support for a dictator.” His party had supported the PPP government until President Asif Zardari failed to honor his commitment to restore the judges dismissed by Musharraf, at which point the PMLN withdrew from the national government.
(C) Nawaz Sharif contrasted his approach to India, in which he had signed the Lahore Declaration with Indian Prime Minister Atal Vajpayee to establish a peaceful path to normalization, to Musharraf’s strategy, which brought on the confrontation at Kargil, “the biggest blunder he committed,” Sharif said. He boasted that his party has refrained from using India as a political tool. “We strongly condemned what happened in India, and want the issue to come to an end,” he stated. “If there is any concrete evidence, we must take action.”

If he wants to finish terorism or tackle it, he should start from within his own party and look at Sanaullah and his contacts. Sharam nahin aatee inn logon koh.
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
^ Under which capacity was Nawaz Sharif discussing these issues with the Americans? If Haqqani says similar things he is considered a traitor, who is Nawaz Sharif then? Can he be entrusted with state secrets?
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
(C) Regarding India, Sharif acknowledged the country's anger, but criticized the Indian media for its "indecent haste" in blaming Pakistan. *But he described how he had listened to the phone call made by one of the attackers and even though the individual claimed he was Indian, Sharif heard a Pakistani accent. "The people involved were from this country -- I am convinced," he stated. * "We must take strictest action against those elements." Once India produces concrete evidence, "we should proceed whole hog," he declared.

In the capacity of being a prime minister-hopeful if the US agrees to it. Sharif firmly believes — and perhaps rightly so — that no one can become the premier of the country until he is cleared from Washington and Riyadh. He starts his election campaign there, convinces them, wins there and comes home as a prime minister. The rest is just formalities.
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
A much better way to put it would be that the nation is preparing to be led by NS.
Sad. My head hurts when I see rickshaw drivers on TV interviews saying that they will vote for PML-N. I guess they are happy to die as rickshaw drivers.
The only problem is that they are taking the whole nation along with for the ride as well. Both, literally and figuratively
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
I think its allowable sin every nation is getting ready to commit.
All power games Noora learned, such as
1-media in his pocket.
2-whole machinery still not out of their fear.
3-kingdom of lahore.
All those games are going to pay of noora like never before, call in conspiracy theory but, PPP gave way to Noora.
So all that situation make it easy for a common man to say “noora league”
On the other hand PTI is more bold brain exercise, which many poeple are willing to do.
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
and this is precisely why I concluded that we are a nation of short-sighted people…truly sad.
don’t get me wrong…we need rickshay walay…we need them as much as we need tehlay walay…but the fact that they have no ambition or vision for the future is painful.
it may not be entirely their fault either…what evidence has the leadership shown them? what proof that they too could improve their lives if they persevere through difficulty? none. absolutely none. this is what drives a nation to greed and jungle law…when they have nothing to look forward to…no future for themselves or their generations to come.
we need to give them a vision…to let them know that they are being heard and that their needs will be addressed.
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
My point exactly.
The working class (more or less) has just been kept at this level, so they can (feel) that they are kings for one day, only to vote for the real kings of Pakistan. While the moderate, knowledgeable and progress portion of the population (who want to vote for change, but are outnumbered) are left wondering when things will change.
PTI may win 5 seats, or 50, the real change is still some leagues away. Hopefully not Muslim Leagues.
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
NS coming to power seems too real and too much in line with the push back button the outsiders pushed to have him wait out the PP term. Imran Khan coming to power is what people would wish for even though his govt. potentially could be hampered with inexperience, however that outcome would seem to be a more unlikely scenario bordering on miraculous.
At the end NS will be more of the same and not much would change in Pakistan, which is probably what the outside behind the scenes forces want. And Imran is a threat to them since he promises across the board change including foreign policy.
Re: I am sure Mumbai attack was carried out by Pakistanis - Nawaz to McCain
from my reading of the 3 other leaders in Pakistan, I think all three are capable of saying what NS said to the senators. The difference is 1) Immy would say it in a public meeting as well as in private 2) Musharaf will say it only in private but if he is outed, will rear back and say 'yeah I said it, so what' and 3) Zardari will say it private and deny he ever said it in public. It is unfortunate because the 1st is a more honest but probably emotional person without adequate experience, the second is a capable patriot but egotistic and hate-filled about India and the 3rd person is simply a trader to whom the country and government are simply handled as consignment stock.

I disagree, I support Nawaz Sharif, have my sympathy for Imran Khan and I adore Zardari's polictiking
