So, through few threads of mine, i did mention about me being forced to get married to my cousin, but, finally, I’ve got rid of it. After I was being persistent, and after getting suggestions from many of you, i directly talked with the cousin which didn’t really help. Then i involved a couple of cousin sisters, and they talked with the guy’s sister, and my cousin sisters talked with my parents, and made them understand not to force the marriage. So, long story short,my parents talked with the guy’s family, and told them they don’t want to proceed with it since iam not happy!
Thanks to Allah!
Thank you so much for your suggestions, and special thanks to redvelvet, whose suggestions helped me the most!
You see the Quran gives us an example of people like me, when their ship is traped in a storm, they pray really hard and sincerely beg Allah (swt) to save them.... but when by the grace of Allah (swt) their ship reaches the shore, they behave as if they never promised Allah (swt) in terms of improving their future. Being humans, it happens to all of us...
BUT, our ideal used to give sadaqa in thanking Allah (Swt) for accepting his dua. He used to do improvements in his prayers, zikr, talawat, helping people, serving relatives, encouraging obedience to Allah (swt)....etc. InshaAllah you already know it and won't forget it, but you see we all need reminders as nafs and devil are with us.
