Ive never ever ever been this way…this winter has seen me sick at least three times. Yesterday, out of the blue…I ended up with sinus headache, sneezing, stuffy nose and a sore throat.
Im exercising…should I continue working out or take a break? Just do cardio with no weights or vice versa? Ive heard sometimes working out makes you feel worse but then also better?
Bon,
If you feel well enough to go to the gym it can help you recover more quickly. The rule I've heard from my running coach is that if the symptoms are in the head and neck (sneezing, coughing, scratchy throat), continue to work out, but just take it easier than usual. If the symptoms are below the neck/flu-like---any vomiting, stomach issues, digestive issues, stay home and sleep. It has worked well for me.
Regardless of whether or not you work out, it's more important than ever to drink lots of fluids. Make sure you drink lots of water or herbal tea, and try to get some fresh fruits in your diet as well. Lay off the junk---your body needs nutritious food in order to recover more quickly.
lol. I’ve lost count on how many times Gina has suggested taking iron to people. Bonnie you’re working out tooooo much and not eating enough and your sleep is all messed up, get away from your laptop
hi Bon..my sister was tellig me that she heard from some professional ppl that ppl who get sick in this kind of weather are those who don't eat proper diet. Maybe it only applies to the country i'm in but make sure u eat healthy and dont over work urself:)
