Bollywood actress and former beauty queen Sushmita Sen has officially launched her brand new project, I Am She. The modelling academy will seek to nurture the talents of young models and the winner of the I am She beauty pageant will go on to represent India in the Miss Universe contest.
Sushmita is the perfect choice to front the new campaign after she made history in 1994 at the age of18, when she became the first Indian woman to be crowned Miss Universe. Now she will help other young Indian women achieve their dreams through the I Am She academy.
The introduction of the I Am She pageant will take over from the Femina Miss India Beauty Pageant as the pre-curser to the Miss Universe contest. Now the winner of I Am She will go forward to represent the country. The whole process of grooming the models and the build up to the big event will be turned into a reality TV show to be broadcast across two channels.
Speaking at the launch of the I Am brand, award-winning actress Sushmita said she felt “life was coming full circle” as she returns to the Miss Universe contest where she first fond fame.
