I don’t know what to feel, disgusted or at least thankful to his/her honesty.
Here are few lines of message exchanging between me and a person I met on one of the social networking web site. (I don’t want to reveal the gender, race or country of the person, so let me refer to him/her as ABC)
ABC: Hi, Where are you from?
Me: Basically from **Pakistan **but working in Malaysia. What about you?
ABC: Sorry. I am not interested.
Me: Not interested in what?
ABC: Not interested to know people from Pakistan.
Me. Thanks for your honesty. God bless and have a lovely weekend. Bye
This once happened when I said to someone I am originally from Pakistan on PS Home for PS3. It did not even matter that I had a british passport or that I had never lived in Pakistan. They did not want to talk to me. Well they can go flip off.
I would’ve replied by saying something very vehement… first in Urdu…then in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Swahili, Mongolian, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, Mandarin…
And what ABC… Now whatcha gon’ say…dheet logh
JonyBr… what are you doing on other sites anyway, you know GS is number one

i had an interview for a position in dubdub once - - when the CEO interviewed me in london for the role, the interview went fine till he asked where my parents where from - as soon as I said pakistan, he sat back, switched off and lost interest ... even said to me , its ok you can finish your cup of tea .... i was so embarrased by his behaviour , I just stood and walked out....
the CEO is lebanese , and funny how things turn out - he is now a very famous name in dubai courts at the moment - for all the wrong reasons
firts time i have ever been discrimniated against for my heritage.....
live and let live - pakistanis are fantatstic in theory....
