PAY FOR THE DVDs suckers, and support your industry. Most of the films are unreleased BUT...
Zibahkhana releases on DVD in June and would be available at amazon.com.
Salakhain is already out on DVD, released by Geo, and I happen to own one. Arrange for your copy through someone in Pak as its widely avaialble there, or you may contact your local desi video outlet to arrange an original DVD for you.
Khullay Asmaan Ke Neechay and Ramchand Pakistani get a theatrical release this summer. Watch them if you go to Pak or Dubai or somewhere.
Not many people know whats up with **Freedom Sound. **The trailer looked like a TV channel/Radio advert anyway....the robot was cool, though :)
I am really looking forward toward these movies. I want Pakistani movies to have it's own identity...not copy of bollywood or Hollywood.
Young Pakistani movie directors and producers should focus on movies with good story lines and social issues. It is very important to make movies with good quality movie equipment, video quality has to be top notch, w/tech and good sound quality.
I think Japanese (speacialy the scary movies) and Korean movies more then Bollywood crap.
Here are some good movie name and Ideas
1- city of doom: Fictional story: Aftermath of Nuclear attack between to neighboring countries.
2- Azadi: Fictional Story: Story line going from present to the past, struggle of the people of Afghanistan, how Pakistan help them during soviet war, and post soviet war yet they are still haven't obtain Azadi, freedom they deserve. Setting both Afghanistan and Afghani living in camps. (more of documentary)
3- Nasha - Story about Drug addict and their life style, how young Pakistani are getting involve in Drug and Drug smuggling as billion dollar business with CIA and FBI with FIA, Drug mafia involve in smuggling drugs. (more of documentary)
4- Dead women for “ghost weddings (Horror Movie) - Group of men (thugs) killing young girls and selling their body to Cult who belief that young men who die unmarried should go to their graves accompanied by deceased women who will be their wives in the afterlife. But there is twist in the movie that these dead women dressed in white come back from dead to haunt them.
well....if they were available ...i would pay for them....hell not even in pakistan would anyone pay for them......thats why you could prob get one for rs 35...!!!!
^^ If thats the general attitude which prevails, then only the heavens can save our tiny showbiz industry. Buy original stuff and support them rather than giving silly excuses. Nothing goes for 35Rs in Pak -- the Salakhain DVD was quite pricy but I chose to buy it coz its next to nothing compared to shelling out $15 on a DVD in the US.

**BOTAL GALI by Shahzad Nawaz with a huge cast and each with a different segment...( I am there in a segment with Sherry Zaidi & Khalid Ahmed) will be released in Pakistan & India by August 14th...so responded by Shahzad Nawaz.

**MSR of GEO says that DV of KKL will be released by end of this year.
**
]KAKN by Jawed Sheikh is poised for release by July this year.*
Khush Rahein.....
Unc Arjay, I doubt Khullay Asmaan will ever see the light of the day. The film lacks the appealing soundtrack most Javeid Sheikh productions have had in the past, and frankly hasnt generated much buzz or excitement at all. Moreover, its been delayed for eternity, and to be honest some shots in the trailer looked kind of dated. I do have a feeling though that JS is working to give it that simultaneous worldwide release which all Lahore productions so yearn for.
The Youtube experience is NOTHING compared to watching the films in a widescreen, high resolution form on an original DVD. The sound and picture quality sucks on these websites. Salakhain had pretty nice DTS, btw.

Btw, I'm actually looking forward to Donkey in Lahore...its a rather unique "reality film" which was made from over 200 hours of footage shot over 5 hours as the Aussie-Pak couple met n wed.
On the page, click on the trailer tab! The promo is seriously cute
Stonecold man, if you want to watch and appreciate Pakistani films, please be aware that theres absolutely no decent film making infrastructure in that country – so if they come up with fairly decent scripts that are well shot and acted with some nice prod values [like Salakhain and KKL] their efforts ought to be lauded rather than criticized.
