contrary to shia believes, sunnis respect and love ali and we hold him very dear to our hearts, like the other sahabas.

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) on the day of Khaibar said: In the morning I will hand over this flag to that person to whom ALLAH and His Prophet keeps friend. Companions (r.a) says that suddenly Hazrat Ali Murtaza (r.a) appeared and in some coatings it is said that Hazrat Ali Murtaza (r.a) was called and given that flag by Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). No doubt, Ali is from Me and I am from Ali, and Ali will be the Saint of every Momin after Me, and will keep a love from him (Momin), no one will be hatred from Him. (Tirimzi)

Hazrat Ali Murtaza (r.a) is one of the Companions of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w), who was given the reward of Heaven by Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) in the world. Hazrat Ali (r.a) was born 29 years after the incident of Amul-Feel, 10 years after the birth of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w), on Friday 13th Rajab. His patronymic name was Abul Hasan, mother’s name was Fatima Bint-e-Asad and father’s name was Abu Talib. He was the cusion of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) and belonged to the respectful family of Banu Hashim. He was the youngest one to embrace Islam at the age of 13. He was the best and beloved Companion of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w), who at the time of migration, slept on the bed of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) when Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w) left with Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a) for Madinah in the night. Hazrat Ali (r.a) was so much brave that number of times killed many Kuffars at a time. He was rewarded by the title of “;Al-Murtaza” (brave in all) by Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). The memorable event, breaking the door of Khaibar also took place by the hands of Hazrat Ali (r.a). Apart from cusion, He was also the son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). He was married with the most beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w), Hazrat Fatima Zahra (r.a). He passed His great Caliphate of 6 years after the martyrdom of Hazrat Usman (r.a). Unfortunately, many problems and propagandas were raised during His Caliphate but He faced them with the open heart. He interrogated for the killers of Hazrat Usman (r.a) but didn’t found any of them. In 40 Hijri, at the age of 63, on 17th, or 19th, or 21st, or 30th of Ramazan, a Jew names “Ibn-e-Maljam”, when Hazrat Ali Murtaza (r.a) was offering Fajr prayers, inserted a dagger in their back from which they got martyrdom after suffering for 3 days.

Please the what Hazrat Ali (ra) has said in Sermon 126 Nahjul Balagha:
If you do not stop believing that I have gone wrong and been misled, why do you consider that the common men among the followers of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.a.h.p.) have gone astray like me, and accuse them with my wrong, and hold them unbelievers on account of my sins. You are holding your swords on your shoulders and using them right and wrong. You are confusing those who have committed sins with those who have not. You know that the Prophet (PBUH) stoned the protected (married) adulterer, then he also said his burial prayer and allowed his successors to inherit from him. He killed the murderer and allowed his successors to inherit from him. He amputated (the hand of) the thief and whipped the unprotected (unmarried) adulterer, but thereafter allowed their shares from the booty, and they married Muslim women. Thus the Prophet (PBUH) took them to ask for their sins and also abided by Allah’s commands about them, but did not disallow them their rights created by Islam, nor did he remove their names from its followers.
Certainly you are the most evil of all persons and are those whom Satan has put on his lines and thrown out into his way less land. **With regard to me, two categories of people will be ruined, namely he who loves me too much and the love takes him away from rightfulness, and he who hates me too much and the hatred takes him away from rightfulness. The best man with regard to me is he who is on the middle course. So be with him and be with the great majority (of Muslims) because Allah’s hand (of protection) is on keeping unity. You should beware of division because the one isolated from the group is (a prey) to Satan just as the one isolated from the flock of sheep is (a prey) to the wolf. **
Beware; whoever calls to this course, kill him, even though he may be under this headband of mine. Certainly the two arbitrators were appointed to revive what the Qur’an revives and to destroy what the Qur’an destroys. Revival means to unite on it (in a matter) and destruction means to divide on a matter. If the Qur’an drives us to them we should follow them, and if it drives them to us they should follow up. May you have no father! (Woe to you), I did not cause you any misfortune, nor have I deceived you in any matter, nor created any confusion. Your own group had unanimously suggested in favour of these two men and we bound them that they would not exceed the Qur’an but they deviated from it and abandoned the right although both of them were conversant with it. This wrong-doing was the dictate of their hearts and so they trod upon it, although we had stipulated that in arbitrating with justice and sticking to rightfulness they would avoid the evil of their own views and the mischief of their own verdict (but since this has happened the award is not acceptable to us).

In that time , people were three groups :
Kharijites who said that Imam Ali (ra) was a disbeliever and they send Ibn Muljim to kill him and he did that.
Shi’ia’s who said that he was infallible Imam and Allah (swt) had chosen him for leading Muslims etc.
**Sunnis ( Overwhelming Majority of Muslims ) who said that he was a great companion of the Prophet (saw) and he was a great leader to Muslims but Muslims had chosen him to be their leader not Allah (swt). **
Ponder and reflect over these words of Imam Ali (ra):
No Sunni of any persuasion hates Hazrat Ali (ra) neither do they love him to excess.
So if Mawiya came against Maula Ali, why do you respect him as Ameer-ul_Monieen… boy i smell some hypocracy here…
or a lady who came against such a big momin…how can she be umul-momineen…
