i am a believer!

I never believed in astrology, palmistry and the whole deal with 'predicting the future" and knowing what a person’s life will be like based on the lines of their hands…because for me your future is based on your actions, choices and a little bit of random events…
Two days ago while strolling uptown manhattan me and a friend passed a palmist sitting by her window…she motioned us to come inside and my friend dragged me inside…whereas i was a bit upset because i thought it would be a waste of money.
So making a long story short, this palmist lady totally awed me. she told me not only what my future will bring (which i think is not such a big deal because anybody can blah blah about the future) but she also told me stuff about my present and past that was 100% accurate!!! I was shocked. So was my friend who was also told really specific stuff. and yeah this wasnt general stuff like “oh you were hurt in the past” or “you have been happy this week” but VERY specific stuff (for example my dream career → and there was no way in hell she could have known that!)
I was just wondering if any of you have had similar experiences with palmists?

I’m in a state of shock. dayum. i mean how could she know?

Re: i am a believer!

I went to this astrology convention many moons ago, but it was a total waste of time. I had my palm read and the psychic told me I would be working with computers in the future and I would “one day” get married. :hoonh: That was it. What a waste of time and money! I can’t be bothered any more. It just doesn’t interest me.

That being said, I do watch Boltay Sitaray on Geo. That show is fun. :cb:

Re: i am a believer!

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a believer!
I couldn't leave her if I tried.

Sorry had to add that stanza in. You can't have a title like that and not want to sing I'm a Believer.

Re: i am a believer!

^^ grumpy one of the many advantages of working from home. u have time to add stanza's in that have nothing to do with the topic! hoon!

mehnaz i hate that show.

Re: i am a believer!

I lub that song

Re: i am a believer!

Yes that is a great song. Fell in love with it when i was 6. Now i sadly have no free time. I got called in to go to a meeting at 2 to 3:30. Yes they just had to call ME. Just me. Like nobody else is free...

Re: i am a believer!

There is a reason for those lines on our hands. Imagine if they were plan blank?

I also know knowing those things is haram. Doing magic is also haram people do that all the time.

Yeah i am sure some of those people probably know what they are talking about and they have knowledge. But point is its haram.

Yeah as it says there will be more people in hell then in heaven.

imagine someoen telling you what will happen to you in next few days or how you would die?

What are you going to do about it? you cannot change it you will die one way or another. So why bother wasting these moments worry about death when we can live and enjoy. i would have gone to a nice museum.

Re: i am a believer!

as i said nia...i had never been to a palmist and was dragged there. however after having been to one i am totally shocked by the accuracy with which she read my palms. im really not concerned with the haraam aspect of it...but whether others have had some experience with palmists?

Re: i am a believer!

yea I have. Id rather not believe it though. I prefer to belive im a master of my own destiny.

Why is ur dream career so fantastical that its unguessable?

Re: i am a believer!

it just is hiccup :p

did u get a correct reading by your palmist though?

Re: i am a believer!

pehla tum batao kai dream kya hai, housewife? :halo:

Re: i am a believer!

:smack:
i cant tell u until i become it. its bad karma. :stuck_out_tongue:

why is everyone flooding my thread? :frowning: i have a feeling it will get moved too.

Re: i am a believer!

nothing unusual…there are far more amazing techniques.

lot of techniques used by sufi mystiques were derived from jewish mysticism and kabalah which later formed basis for white magic. What you hobbits don’t know is that white magic and kabalah practioners were doing ‘istikharas’ long before it’s acceptance in Islam.

think twice before doing your ‘istikhara’ hobbits, it’s evil.

Re: i am a believer!

LI so you are saying you believe in it? would palmistry by definition fall under white magic? i always thought the lines on our hands were formed as babies when the skin was soft and the fist was closed thus causing lines...

Re: i am a believer!

mistress u mean

Re: i am a believer!

Master works, Im more man than some.

Re: i am a believer!

Did the palmist talk to you at all before starting the charade? She could have simply been using the psychological technique known as cold reading

Re: i am a believer!

somewhat related, what do you think of http://veritas.arizona.edu , where psychics were tested without there being the possibility of hot or cold readings.

made very interesting reading for me

grumpy ..thats exactly the song i thought of

Re: i am a believer!

i do not believe this stuff... though many ppl have told me things which were absolutely correct...

but it's not liked in islam.
