Re: Hyrdoquinone

Anything above 3% is banned in UK :bummer: must be for a reason, otherwise im really tempted to try…

Re: Hyrdoquinone

You got v.lucky.. People who use hydroquinone with no sun protection (esp in hotter climates) can often end up much much darker..

Same with those who use Retin-A..

Re: Hyrdoquinone

Ingredients like hydroquinone, Retin A (or any product with retinol), AHA's such as glycolic or lactic acid, kojic acid etc.....they all make your skin super sensitive to the sun, and makes it more prone to hyperpigmentation. So if anyone is using products containing these ingredients....PLEASE use a good sunscreen anytime you're outside.

Without proper sun protection, a "reversal" effect from these products is well documented (ie. your skin will get darker over time). Yes, there are people who're "lucky" enough not to use sun protection and not experience the horrible side effects. But that's like saying that smoking doesn't cause cancer just b/c there are some "lucky" ones out there who smoked heavily for decades and didn't get cancer.

So PLEASE use sunscreen religiously if you're going to be using any of the above ingredients.
