Re: Hypothetical Question
That's just mind boggling. The girl didn't ask for a divorce knowing that he's not coming back?
I guess not. It sounds (from what I've heard) that she doesn't quite get that he's not coming back.

Re: Hypothetical Question
Is the girl from back in Afghanistan? Or she was raised in the west? Just a sad story and as for your friend no comments since she's responsible for her own decisions.
Re: Hypothetical Question
^ I think she's from Afghanistan. As far as my friend, the only time I've ever commented on the situation was when she asked me directly what I thought. Other than that, I don't comment (even though she's been a close friend since childhood) because if she's made her decision, I don't think there is really anything to be done about it and commenting negatively would simply cause tension.
Re: Hypothetical Question
I knew of someone in college who got married to a girl in Afghanistan right before beginning college and he expressed his feelings to a friend of mine that he isnt sure about the marriage. I hope its not the same guy :o
Re: Hypothetical Question
I think both are due to the fact that spending time together prior to finalizing the rishta is frowned upon. You can only learn so much about a person when the whole family is around. The abusive types get away by pretending to be all charming, and the nice ones are probably too shy to make an impression with the family watching. ![]()
Re: Hypothetical Question
So PCG's post's have got me thinking. What would you say about a guy who was twice divorced (two girls in PK, but divorced during the visa process) AND had a kid out of wedlock with a non-desi person?????????
And also indulged in incest, how about this to make it even more dramatic?
