SORRY maybe i should add this to my earlier thread, not sure.
but just wanted to share some info i read about this.
apparently the dangers with this cream are if using higher than 4percent and using it daily for around 10 to 20 YEARS…is dangerous. using it for 6months is fine…
anyway, il attach the page so you guys can read and let me know.

I'm very happy to see that you're doing research on your own regarding these ingredients. That being said, while this is a good article with some good info., I have no idea how you came to the above 2 conclusions from the article b/c that's not what it says.
there was another one.hang on. but yes this is what i read. honestly, i wouldnt make it up! ITS MY SKIN !1!
and it does say the studies showed this mainly on people who had used over 4percent and over many years on a daily basis with no regulations....esp in africa....
I'm not saying you made it up. I'm saying the conlusions you're reaching to based on what's written is wrong.
This is the conclusion you stated in the original post: "apparently the dangers with this cream are if using higher than 4percent and using it daily for around 10 to 20 YEARS......is dangerous. using it for 6months is fine......"
I'm assuming you made that statement above based on these 3 sentences in the article:
1) "It’s important to note that most reports of ochronosis have been from Africa after a prolonged period of daily use — sometimes as long as 10 to 40 years — and in high concentrations." (NOTE: "most" doesn't mean "all" and sometimes doesn't mean "all the time"; This also doesn't say that people who use it for less than 10 years in low concentrations can't experience horrible side effects)
2) "In the United States, hydroquinone may be sold as a 2% concentration without a doctor’s prescription. In Canada, the maximum concentration allowed is a 4% concentration sold via pharmacies." (Note: this is not saying that "dangers" don't exist if the cream is less than 4%)
3)"If no improvement is seen after 4 to 6 months, discontinue the cream." (Note: This is not the same as saying "using this cream for 6 months is safe").
Now read you statement carefully....and re-read what the article. I know it's your SKIN. That's why I want you and everyone else who wants to use this to be careful about how you interpret the information that's out there. I would hate for anyone to use this under false assumptions and then be shocked IF something goes wrong.
I use 4% concentration in obagi's nu derm series 3-4 months every year and LOVE IT. It makes all my sunspots disappear and keeps me even toned. Everything has risks and dangerous and life is too short for me to worry about hydroquinone
^ As an adult, you have every right to feel that way. The point here isn't to tell people not to use it. The point is to educate and make sure people make informed decisions. I don't have any problem with someone using 4% or any other % for the rest of their lives if they want to. After all....its their skin. What I don't want is someone to do that believing that it's totally safe and doesn't carry any risks.
