Mint masks are drying in nature; they're used to dry up acne.
Instead of buying commercial mask that will contain chemicals , why not get yourself a small jar of organic raw honey from your local supermarket? Honey softens and us a humectant which means it locks in moisture. It also exfoliates as it contains AHAs and when combined with water it produces hydrogen peroxide so it has a lightening effect too. Mix some honey and rose water, apply to face as a mask for 15-30 minutes and wash off. I don't even add rose water; I use only the honey. So give this a try. Yogurt masks also soften the face.
You can try a more emollient moisturizer like ponds or nivea. Winter can be drying to skin.
Interesting options RV. This I can definitely try at home, just need to find raw honey. But is any one these pore minimising - which is my main concern?
Also I was looking for something that could be carried for travel hassle free.
Once a week. Is that too often or less? It used to work ok but now it seems (keeping all else same diet/sleep etc) I need to use them more often. I have recently started trying these things so not sure.
^ There is nothing that can minimize your pores permanently - This is a medical fact. Masks, make-up primers etc. are just temporary. I also get dry skin if I use it often. Honestly, these days I use a mark maybe once a month....even if that.
If you want your pores to look smaller/smoother when going out.....why not use a primer or something like Clinique pore minimizer?
Winter is harsher on the skin so if you do want to continue using the masks....maybe use it once every 2 weeks until the weather is warmer? And as mentioned above, you should get a heavier moisturizer for winter if you don't have one already.
