Does anyone have experience with these? especially Prius. It looks different but not ugly and the mileage seems pretty good. How is the drive (not on a test basis, over time)? And will normal mechanics know what to do if it needs work?
Any info appreciated.

When they will start making hybrids that can do 0-60 under 5 seconds I will buy it in a heart beat. Until then I can enjoy my gas guzzler.

My mom has one - a Honda Civic Hybrid
She misses her Toyota Truck, but she loves the mileage. She says she sometimes gets up to 49+ mpg. One of the things she is afraid of is the problems that might develop over time, but she says that it has paid for itself so far in savings at the gas pumps. She has had normal oil change, etc, but nothing big time yet, mechanics seem to love the novelty everytime she tunes it up.
She is a traveler and every three months she moves to a new city and state because of her job. She has driven to Alaska twice from RI, so the mileage adds up.
The only thing that aggravates me is the slow acceleration and start up, but my mother loves it.

If all cars have horse power doesnt that make it hybrid? Just wondering.

BTW I can imagine a car manufactured in Saudi Arabia, It will be camel powered.
