How can it be? Moslty there are people who love animals and birds. How they are supposed to do that?
Exactly the problem! Most pet owners in Pakistan LOVE their pets, no doubt.. but they either don't have the time or budget to spend on their pets, or they just don't have the knowledge. Let me remind you that a majority of the animals at the Hafta Bazaar are birds.. assuming you're a Karachiite, you know the environment: smoke from vehicles, small crammed cages can be seen, and generally a dusty inhygienic environment.
Now do you know the stories of miners who used to take canaries with them so they would know if there was gas leakage in the mine? Since birds have sensitive respiratory systems, the canary would die if such were the case and the miners would get a signal that it was dangerous for them to be in there. The vendors at Hafta Bazaar might take good care of their pets at home (God knows), but the condition of animals (particularly birds) is definitely not good at the Hafta Bazaar.

Once when I was very little I wanted to “play” with our fish in the tank so I caught them with my fingers and held their fins so they couldn’t swim away. I killed one I felt very bad about it and my mom yelled at me.
P.S. It is true that while hurting animals when you’re little won’t make you a serial killer that lots of serial killers did start off by hurting animals. Its one of the common themes that has been found when studying serial killers.

Oh yes you right! But this is our traditional attitude. Even we do with our children - holding a baby and smoking chainlessly! And too many other things!

Iv always really loved dogs and cats...and iv always been one of those who was sad to see an animal die in a film...i remember this dog died is some old Indian film and i was down about that but not the 5 odd people that had just died...
That being said iv killed a rat before with a brick and iv killed insects...Insects i dont much care for but i wouldnt feel comfortable killing a rat now...

Killing animals at a young age is actually supposed to be a trait in someone who is sociopathic...
