Hurling Obscenities to Make a Point

Re: Hurling Obscenities to Make a Point

Good point.

Two common reasons for using these kind of words:

1-Trying to put 'weight' in what is said seriously or in jokes. If you see certain stand up comedies on cable you will see this a lot. :-(

A hidden way of joking however with careful choice of words seems OK though....
:-)
For Example:

A doctor was examining 80 year old woman with hearing problem.

He says: "Big breaths" while listening to her lungs.

She says: Yeah, they used to be!

2- Habit. Mostly from bad company or background but even 'educated class' is not immune from it. It is called Regurgitation/Reflex phenomenon.
