Hunger!

I’ve ended up in an evil circle! :frowning:

I constantly feel hungry. Lets say I eat around 7.30 am and then around 10 am, I really need to stuff my face with something!

I loooove eating sugarie things or very salty once :frowning:

I’m constantly thinking about food :frowning:

I feel all this started ever since I started to eat breakfast (a few weeks back)?

Today I ate around 10 am (had to go late) and around 3 pm, I was sooooo hungry, like over-exaggerating hungry :s

Help! Anyone else experienced this?

Re: Hunger!

I feel hungry all the time too- BUT you shouldn't link your "extra" hunger to having begun to eat breakfast

eating breakfast is necessary- it gets your metabolism going after your sleep, and the hunger you feel (which you should probably start feeling around every 3 hours after a meal-granted it wasn't an excessive meal) just means your metabolism is working- so hunger is a GOOD sign

make sure you eat quality foods with lots of protein and fiber to keep you feeling full- avoid simple carbs like white bread, white pasta, and refined sugar (i.e. anything sweet that isn't fruit)

if you feel that you are eating too much, and still feel hungry, then thirst could be your culprit- drink lots of water and stay hydrated- if you don't like water, then have tea or iced tea without sugar or milk

it sounds like lack of water could be your problem since you said you esp. want sugary and salty things

also- if you are stressed that could be why you want to eat all of the time

Re: Hunger!

^You may be right about water of being the culprit I think after today .. Because when I came home around 3 pm, I was veryyyy thirsty too.

Re: Hunger!

U ate at 10 and ate nothing till 3? obviously u were hungry as u skipped lunch. its a long gap. u should be eating more frequently like every 2 hours. also if u stay hungry for more than 2 hours ur body will crash n u'll crave sugar/sweets so to avoid this cylce eat every few hours. eat healthy and u'll b able to control those cravings.

Re: Hunger!

yay join the club... I have to eat somethingg.. ( preferably something sweet) every hour or two.. or I literally feeel i'll die or something... super fast metabolism may be ?

Re: Hunger!

Addicted to sugar. Eat some almonds, go nuts on veggies and water. Figure out how many calories you need, and how much you should eat (roughly) and stick to it. Our bodies get used to excess food and we can start to over eat.

You should eat smaller meals. Eating at 7 and being hungry at 10 is not that unusual. Eating 5-6 smaller meals is much healthier than 3 gigantic, desi sized meals.

Re: Hunger!

okay, so I'm trying to count calories etc. but its quite tiring as well. I want to loose some weight, so I think 1500 kalories should be enough per day, but I also have a low metabolisme, so maybe more of 1300? Too much, too little? (I'm about 1.71 m tall and 62 kg)

I cant get myself to work out regularly for more than 10 days. Its another evil circle, so I am thinking, since weather is getting better, I might as well power-walk 20-40-60-120 minutes 4 days a week for a start?

Re: Hunger!

Err, I wish :p .. The weight scale is def. going the wrong way!!

Re: Hunger!

if you take more sugary things it effect your body badly you take fruits green vegetable it is best for the health

Re: Hunger!

Sweetmoi, ofcourse you are going to feel hungry if there are such huge gaps between your meals (like Mabrook said).

And why on earth do you want to loose wait?! Your wait is good for your lenght.

1500/1300 calories is way too less. stay active and keep eating healthy.

Don't listen too much to nowadays popular health gurus.

Re: Hunger!

start fasting! :)

Re: Hunger!

try frozen dates.. they become like caramel, that should satisfy your sweet tooth

Re: Hunger!

Going on "diet" during ramadan, so that I can cut off the fat I've gained during this semester. sigh .. wish me luck!!

Re: Hunger!

Re: Hunger!

If you are hungry by 10 if you eat breakfast at 7 means two things. One your breakfast was not heavy enough 2 its normal to feel hungry by 10 or 11 if you eat at 7 am. Its 3 or 4 hours since your first meal and you were sleeping for 8 odd hours. So yeah its normal.

Just have three main groups at breakfast. Have carbs, bread, cereal etc. Make sure you have protein be it eggs , milk or something else. Last have a half liter bottle of water. Avoid sugars for breakfast like donuts, syrups, jams etc. That is what gives you the sugar high but you don't actually have enough energy to last you through the day.
