Humsafar

No. This thread is not about drama Humsafar.

How do you see people interacting with fellow travelers in different culture?

Does the situation vary from culture to culture or its about personal attributes.

Do you like to interact with stranger traveling with you?

Re: Humsafar

No one talks on the train in London especially during rush hour.

Re: Humsafar

Yes, I do talk with humsafars. It is always good to have a wonderful humsfar right next to your seat. :hehe:

Re: Humsafar

How do you define a wonderful Humsafar? Do you see some qualities in strangers to share your boringness :hehe:

Re: Humsafar

I heard in London trains people prefer to talk to books than humans :hehe:

Re: Humsafar

if he/she is responding and smiling on your jokes and sharing tiny details of life and moments etc etc. what else one wants during long flight.

Re: Humsafar

You mean you start telling jokes to strangers during flights?

Re: Humsafar

yup, if humsafar is frienldy. tabhi yeh sab kuch mumkin hia.

Re: Humsafar

I mean how do you start? Do you interact or wait for other to interact? Apart from long international flights, how do you see Americans interact with others in Trains, etc

Re: Humsafar

no, at our location train system is not available. generally, americans are friendly when they travel. they are actually more curious to know more about the person sitting next to them. at least for me it is true. most of the american who were with me were travelling to Middle East therefore they do understand cultural and religious aspects.

another time, I was with one arabian girl, she was also talkative.

my first experience with one memon auntie, she had children with her so it was quite boring to had a seat with her, but as soon as I got opportunity, I ran away and found some empty seats in plane. :hehe:

Re: Humsafar

i dont like interacting with strangers.

Re: Humsafar

Is it from the beginning or something / some event lead to this? How do you pass time on long flights / journeys?

Re: Humsafar

:emmy: Memons are very much social, per wo her kisi ko lift nahin karate :snooty:

Re: Humsafar

han to unkay bachy hi unko tang kar rahay thay, ab main kiya baat karta.

Re: Humsafar

it is from the beginning.....just not in my nature....i just dont like it........i pass my time on journeys with music or tv.

Re: Humsafar

I just hate ‘roo roo ree ree’ karne wale buchay during traveling. They make you suffer in safar :aj:

Re: Humsafar

I think everyone thinks like that. but if it is your child you would just try your best to keep child calm.

Re: Humsafar

But I somehow feel that aunties don't try much to calm their children during traveling. Once during a flight from Karachi to Sukkur (on December 31), I saw Saleem Javed (Pakistani singer). The air hostess went to him for 2-3 times to ask for chai-nashta (may be they only had juice nad chai for this short journey) and he refused very rudely.

During that flight a kid was crying like anything and aunty asusual failed to calm the kid and Saleem Jawed had to call air hostess for getting cotton to put in his ears. I was thinking 'jaise ko taisa'.. :D

Humsafar

I like talking to humsafars only if they are not weirdos!
Once on a flight from Toronto to London I was so exhausted that I fell asleep. And when I woke up I found my head resting on my humsafars shoulder/arm......how super embarrassed I was :)! I had slept for good 3 hours.....super duper embarrassed :)
Later I apologized and had to be extra sweet to him :). Glad fully he was a nice guy from Dhaka and not at all weird.

Re: Humsafar

I would try this with Bengali girl, but never got a chance ;)
