I disagree. I didn’t really respect the script too much until I saw the interview a couple times. I taped it on Dvr. I think that Farhat Ishtiaq did a pretty brilliant job. Sarmad praises her explicit instructions in the interview and Momina Duraid says that Umera Ahmed recommended Farhat. No doubt the actors did justice to their roles and then some…however is just acting then we would loved Mahira khan in NEEYAT and Fawad I. Kuch pyar ka palgapan tha…Mehreen jabbar directed NEEYAT. She is same director who directed Daam and doraha. You do need a solid script. By no means is the script perfect. However it is well done. There always constraints and demands from a producer. Definitely everyone did what they were suppose to but here was a decent. Each characters point of POV was presented. So many people were upset that Sara died yet I think that needed to happen for Khirad and Adjet to live peacefully. I could feel Fareedas pain too. She worked so hard raising her only son and it was hard for her to accept that he married some ordinary girl. Felt zareenas pain etc…all of these characters feeling were so relate able. The story was nothing new but presentation was so appealing. As a writer when u can take something so ordinary and turn into an extraordinary blockbuster thats Talent. Absolutely loved some of the dialogues…I didn’t really think they were filmy. This was a drama the entire family could watch including young children. it was a love story clean enough to watch with your young children and grandmas.
Actually I want to start a thread in which GS members rate what they felt top reasons for Humsafars success…ie script, direction, cast, Ost…producer. Fawad khan was asked this question several times and he said Cast. He felt that the cast was the biggest reason for Humsafar’s success.
