Book review: Parsi Bol – saving a language, one word at a time – The Express Tribune
For those who have grown up in a Parsi household, familiar phrases such as **Evun toh photo frame thai guya (the person died and is now in a photo frame) **which shows the signature Parsi humour when it comes to death or Mummo chuchcho vugar seerpa nahi which means if you don’t swear you are not a Parsi, are bound to take one down memory lane.

The humorist line form punjabi to me is
Maran nu phiray te akhay main shoray nal e khani ay.
Hamari naujawan nasal pe fit ata hai.
jaib main kuch hai nae aur BMW khareedni hai.

There is a Sindhi version of this thought which goes as 'labhe loonak kona, saddhoo maree'aRe joon'. Meaning, one got even no loonaka and striving for Maree'aRo
Loonak= its a plant that grows in larger quantities on streets across Sindh like Bhang in Islamabad's pavements. It is used in daal like we use methi / dhanya in some dishes)
MareeaRo = Don't know exact meaning, but it appears that its some royal dish, which is now not known with its old name.

This one from Sindhi is quite funny 'Jai naahe naani muhandre' meaning One is not born and people started guessing resemblance to nani. used when someone shows extra excitement before time. I think I heard it in bollywood in words 'mandir basa nahin aur bhikari aa gae'.
