Could I please get a good recipe for hummus?
My aunt knows how to make it, but since she’s out of town, I’m out of luck.
I want one that someone has tried and has actually turned out real good.

tahini sauce
chick peas
lemon juice
olive oil
garlic
salt
u put em in a blender n ur done :D
i dont know how much of each though :-s
I'm sure there has to be a certain ratio and quantity. I can't just toss everything into a blender. It'd be a mess.
Try this :- very basic recipe.
1 can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans) drained and rinsed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 garlic clove, peeled
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons tahini
pita bread, cut veggies, or chips
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS :-
Drain and rinse a can of chickpeas, then dump them into the blender.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Peel 1 clove of garlic and crush it in a garlic press. (If you don't have a garlic press, chop it finely with a knife.)
Add the crushed garlic to the blender.
Add 1/4 cup of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and 2 tablespoons of tahini. Tahini is ground sesame seeds (kind of like peanut butter) and can be found near the peanut butter in some grocery stores. Other stores may have it in the international section.
Put the lid on the blender and puree at low speed for 5-10 seconds until smooth.
Wait for the blender to stop completely. Then mix the hummus with a rubber spatula so that all the ingredients get blended.
Put the lid back on and puree for another 10 seconds.
Pour the hummus into a bowl.
You can serve hummus with vegetables, pita bread, tortilla chips or whatever tastes good.
Diva4U, thanks for the recipe. Have you tried it and does it turn out really good or just about average?
I have tried making it. My recipe was a little different but the one I posted here was on tv. So, this should work !
