does the word humdardi have a negative connotation? from what i understand it can. but why? is not it technically a good thing to be able to feel for other people …is it another substitute for empathy ?

in our culture, hamdardi is a positive trait while in the west, empathy has replaced sympathy. being a hamdard, is a great quality/value one can have for someone else.
