Christians argue that the God, the son of God [Jesus] and the Holi Spirit are ALL the same...that is, the concept of Trinity [3-in-1] holds true. (nauuzobillah).
They give the example of Water, Gas [steam] and Ice...are the same...just different forms = 3-in-1.

The allowance for Muslim men to marry Christian women....how is it so when the trinity is like polytheism and marriage to a polytheist is forbidden???

the main belief in Christianity is shirk as per islamic criteria:
God loves us: John 3.16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Meanwhile Islamically, God cannot have a son.
He begets not (He has no children, no offspring, no son/sons or daughters), nor is/was He begotten (uncreated, and He has no parent). Refer to Surah Ikhlas.
the most important belief in Islam is that Allah does not have a son, or any other being associated with Him. Shirk is when you call someone His son.

why are muslims(only males) permitted to marry Christians and Jews? interesting question. I never got the right answers to that either.
