I do not know which book Catholics follow but biblical teachings show no problem in cousin marriages. Abraham married his half sister. Isaac married his first cousin. Jacob married his first cousins - two of them. There is no historical record, or at least I am unaware of any, where Prophet of Islam declared that permissiblity of cousin-marriage was something of a new rule.

I agree. I was referring to the catholic church teaching and not Christianity in general.
