Artist processes human waste to make statement about outcasts
LONDON — An artist is inviting Londoners to come face-to-face with the wretched labor of one of India’s lowest castes — by filling an art gallery with 21 big blocks of human excrement.
Ouch,and some people thought Duchamp’s Urinal was too far fetched..
**Later Addition **: Why use such a repulsive medium.. maybe to evoke the same emotion that people of the lowest caste go through.. all their livesss.. not being able to go forward in any careers.. not being looked at as equals..not even worth looking at or touched.. what could be so disgusting and repulsive that would generate the same kind of emotions..
well i think the artist made the right choice…

it reminds me of the exhibition by this american artist, who "painted" a portrait of Mary using i think elephant dung. (someone double check the facts for me please). Big controversy. Eventually the painting was taken down.
