why doesnt Hum Tv ever film its dramas in the uk. Like currently, Zid is in the states, as was Mata e Jaan, and ahista ahista as examples, and Rubaru was in Turkey i believe.
Its always either America pakistan or other countries.
Is it because UK would be too expensive?
It would be really nice to see some set here.

He has an affair with a pakistani girl at the job centre who is the local Don and hangs out at small heath park. :)

I have noticed any time they want to show good well to do Pakistanis, they show amreeka. Maybe its also because UK was always shown in the past... Certain living conditions, and certain type od Pakistanis are shown. Most recently more and more Pakistanis want to come to the US, and more and more Pakistanis have US exposure. It works out better... Plus US is huge (not comparing it with Europe but just UK). They get to show states from Florida with beautiful beaches to, city life in NY. Also I've noticed a lot of new actors are born/raised/lived in the US

We have nice beaches here too... when the sun's out, when the rain ceases to exist for that 2 minutes, when people aren't literally sitting on top of each other due to the former statement of nice weather resulting in the whole of the UK to come out onto one beach, when the beach itself isn't used as a dumping ground for people's waste.....
I mean sure it's not venice beach, but it comes in a close second.

Lol. But in honesty, i’ve been to the beach/ city where they’ve shot Firaaq. I can’t even tell how beautiful this place is. My khala.lives.in that city and said Momina Duraid’s sister lives there who took care of everything for the cast/crew. Jackson hts is shot in NY where mehreen jabar lives.

In the UK they'll have to go out in the countryside for open greenery like they show in U.S. I wish they film a drama in Cornwall. It's so nice. Also, Wales has some stunning landscapes/ beaches

Yeah it would be great if they did filming in Wales or near the countryside. Not in Birmingham though.... It's too crowded and unattractive .

exactly! like Mt Snowdon is so pretty and landscapey! the lake district is also so pretty. and the scottish highlands etc
the UK does have so much more potential than your standard, London Bham Manchester Bradford etc
See that's the thing. Would they really be able to shoot in country side. Would they have accommodation. Surely they can't travel every day to far away places to film. In the US, they don't have to go to country side to find pretty places to shoot.
In Zid, they are showing main DC.. very accessible. Easy to find accommodation. In Jackson hts, its main NYC. They don't have to go anywhere. Much of it is shot in Brooklyn which is where Mehreen Jabbar lives. Why would they put themselves through long travel time, hardto find accommodation etc when they can shoot easily in the US and have pretty places, very easy to find extras to work on little roles (not saying UK won't have that), easy to find cameramen etc. everything adds up. If what you are saying should be done, then Canada is very beautiful. But the northern Canada... Idk if they can shoot there

yes, uk is also very accessible. theres a lot of accommodation places in the uk country side believe it or not. ive been to most of the places mentioned and stayed in a hotel every time, really close by.
another advantage would be that UK isnt as vast as US, e.g. going from NY to CA would probably take a few days by car, train etc wheras it would only take a few hours to get from say Scotland to London or even Ireland.
UK isnt hard to get around once your used to it.
