Re: hum jeet gayey?

So yay death to indian secularism..

But I do have a problem with kalasra's thinking regarding that indian parliamentarian's comment. Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of partition, while under why authority would pakistan tell india to do this and that for indian muslims? Wouldn't pakistani interference further PROVE that that indian muslims are fifth columnists and should be burned in 1000 godhras? I can also bet that these same indian muslims, especially the deoband kind, would tell pakistan to shove it if it did say anything for them; I know indian hyderabadis etc who would look down upon a pakistani and rather go sit with rakesh, mukesh who didn't even like them. The only difference was after the gujarat riots where they actually came and sat down with the pakistanis.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

Sure klasra is paid Indian agent.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

Some parts especially initial part of the column is brilliant. there are some problems though. I have problem with the statement that "many non-muslim Pakistanis served their country very well and when given a chance they proved that they loved their country more than their religion. What a stupid comment embedded in the midst of brilliant lines". Love for the country is part of religion. these two loves are not contradictory. Apart from that and what Doppelganger pointed out, it is an eye-opener. We, like our neighbors have developed the habit of pointing fingers but never introspect.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

making hidu or sikh a president is non-issue. but such topics will sure get you some (negative) attraction. this how journalists earn.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

brilliant observation by you. agree that love for your country and love for your religion are not mutually exclusive by any means. and in essence that is soul of a true secular country where someone's love for his religion as such should be a personal issue and not a governing factor as to how to serve his country.

and also agree with you that klassara made a brilliant point that we were never a secular country and we as a nation always took pride in our religious ideological background and now if india is getting away from its secular roots as well and moving closer to its Hinduism roots, we shd be happy abt it....coz that means we won! secularism failed and religious theorem won.....but instead of celebrating, we are reminding india its secular roots....

Re: hum jeet gayey?

agreed...lived in chicago for many years which has a huge indian muslim population and they dont interact with pakistani muslims. actually pakistani muslims dont interact with them that much either. second generation does but ist generation remains aloof from each other.

indian muslims feel that pakistanis think of themselves a bit more privileged socially, so they hate when we pakistanis give them a sorrowful look "hayee becharay indian muslims suffering in india"....in retaliation, they will say " we are very happy in our mahan india, just mind your own business"

Re: hum jeet gayey?

Yes. Inadvertently, we show that secularism must be something good that whenever a minority is ill-treated in India, we utter
phrases such as "hindustan ki secularism ka pole khul gaya", "secular India kay munh par tamacha hai", "secularism ka raag alapnay walay mulk mein aqleitoon kay sath zulm ho raha hai" etc.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

People are not reminding India of its "secular" roots, more like they are pointing fingers towards the fallacy and hypocrisy of their secular brand!

Looks like a certain sense of irony is completely being missed.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

The Gujrati/Hyderabadi Indian Muslims in general appear seemingly more religious looking than their Pakistani counterparts. The deobandi types hate Pakistan for not being a "proper" Islamic country.

Pakistan doesn't need to get involved in Indian Muslims' issue at all. Hindu extremists already abuse Kashmiris and India Muslims to vent their hatred for Pakistan. They are the proxy punching bags for all their anti Pakistan sentiments. Pakistan becoming their accidental spokesperson would risk so many innocent peoples' lives in India.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

I always thought that hyderabadis sort of envy Pakistan that it got independence while nizam's hyderabad got run over by India in 1948.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

What really is the difference? Yes, there is a sense of irony but inadvertently (emphasis), we admit that in an ideally secular state, all the citizens enjoy the freedom equally. that is something our own state lacks despite the fact we never cease to drum up that our minorities enjoy equal rights contrary to the reality. Munafiqat tu dono taraf hi hai.

Re: hum jeet gayey?

seems that you have a soft corner for Indians :)
